Pros

Don't micromanage you for actual important day to day related work items

Cons

The level of micromanagement for time wasting items is on an uprecedented level I've never experienced, witnessed, or heard of except in case studies of how not to run a business or manage employees. Sometimes upper management asks the most unreasonable things and excepts them done anyway. Upper management treats the entire employee base the same. Nobody is reviewed individually when being asked to do such massive time wasting tasks. High performers are grouped with the rest of the company and everyone is expected to do the same thing even though everyone should be managed differently on an individual level. The laziest form of management is to uniformly ask an entire business sector to perform menial, time wasting busy work, even when high performers have never done this in the past. They aren't even interested in the opinion of high performers whatsoever. Proper managers don't ask the same thing of everyone, as they know that each individual has their own processes and ways of going about their job. Management talks a big talk but asks everyone to do the exact same thing because they don't want to take the time (they ask us to put into some of these ridiculous admin tasks) to see what works best for each invidivual...especially the more tenured employees.

We take employee concerns seriously and appreciate that you are troubled, however it is surprising that after working for the company for several years, you don’t feel more comfortable picking up the phone to speak with senior management to better understand their requests. All salespeople are asked to complete their territory plans so they can see the path to achieving their sales goals. Salespeople are also asked to research their accounts in CRM so we can market and sell to our clients and prospects appropriately. The salespeople that follow these proven steps are more successful at meeting and often exceeding annual sales goals and advancing in their careers. An anonymous posting on Glassdoor is an option to express your dissatisfaction, but please consider reaching out to someone in a senior Sales role to better understand how the territory plan might actually increase your effectiveness on the team.

Pros

They pay for your medical If you can make it past the first 2 years, the salary is good,

Cons

They will make you stay on a team that does not showcase your talents. They are not completely honest and transparent about what you will do on the job. They try to make you learn 2 years worth of Information Technology within 3 -4 months You can express a mental exhaustion from being understaffed and there are no changes You can mention a team lead with NO social intelligence is disrespectful and nothing is done. They will turn it around and blame you. They have an extremely HIGH turnover rate for the first 2 years This is a STRESSFUL job There is no empathy or care when it comes to your mental health and this job and the toll it takes on you

Though your experiences are vastly different from what we hear from other employees in our Dallas location, we take concerns like this seriously and value your feedback. At Yardi, our core values focus on integrity, inclusion, and respect in the workplace, and we work diligently to ensure employees genuinely feel a sense of being valued, connected, and supported. We work hard to set our employees up for success by providing the fundamentals and training they will need for their roles and support system, and we encourage employees to connect with their managers should they need additional support or shadowing help. Though we can understand the difficulties that come with natural attrition, we have added over 1,000 new employees during the past two years to ensure we are staffed in a manner that enables our teams to best serve our clients. We care deeply about our employees and one way of showing this is by providing a robust benefit plan at no additional cost to our employees. Medical coverage for new employees starts shortly after joining the company, not two years later as you mention. The plan includes an Employee Assistance Program that offers assistance with mental health challenges, as well as a large variety of other topics to help support work/life balance. We take pride in our transparent, caring, and supportive culture and genuinely encourage anyone who feels negatively impacted by something to schedule time with the VP of Human Resources to further discuss.

Local Senior Management Doesn't Get It

Pros

largely, my direct managers over the years have been very supportive and people who helped grow my career.

Cons

Employee Appreciation Week really isn't the time to get an email from a Vice President praising toxic work habits like skipping scheduled PTO, working overtime and odd hours, or taking the brunt of client complaints and escalations because your manager is "too busy". I wish I could say this was a one-time thing, but this particular VP is infamous for repeatedly praising these (and other) demoralizing habits. While most of us roll our eyes and ignore this obviously terrible praise, others take it to heart and end up completely losing their work/life balance.

We appreciate your taking the time to write a review. It is surprising that you did not feel more comfortable sharing your concerns directly with your manager or HR after being an employee for over 9 years. We respect your opinion; however, your comments aren’t in keeping with what we normally hear from employees in your location. We are aware that a Vice President recently sent an email about Employee Appreciation Day that was intended to thank Raleigh employees and honor their service and commitment to our clients. It sounds like this isn’t how you interpreted the communication, and we are sorry for the confusion. We care deeply about work/life balance and encourage you to contact the Vice President of HR to discuss further.
