Employee Appreciation Week really isn't the time to get an email from a Vice President praising toxic work habits like skipping scheduled PTO, working overtime and odd hours, or taking the brunt of client complaints and escalations because your manager is "too busy".
I wish I could say this was a one-time thing, but this particular VP is infamous for repeatedly praising these (and other) demoralizing habits. While most of us roll our eyes and ignore this obviously terrible praise, others take it to heart and end up completely losing their work/life balance.
