      SEC has been through many changes over the past 25 years. It started as ROLM, IBM, Siemens and finally Siemens Gores.

      Pros

      Small company environment with very large conglomerate backing. SEC is a very small company in the U.S., less than 600 employees. Although the marketing VP will tell you 2000-which is still very small.

      Cons

      SEC has suffered over the years searching for an idenity. First a very small division at IBM, then an IBM and Siemens company and now a Siemens and private equity company-the worst of worst.

      No direction - small group makes all the decisions. This same group has been making decisions over many years without any success in market.

      Pros

      Great benefits, medical, dental, retirement etc! This Employer has a very flexible vacation and holiday schedule. In addition this Company has a competitive pay structure.

      Cons

      This Company has zero loyalty to it Employees. If this Company can save a dime by off shoring jobs or bringing in foreign workers on Visa's it will do it. Retirement benefits are designed around working until at least 55. If the company were to lay you off even with 30 years at age 54, your pension will be 1/3 of that you would have received at 55. Management, Engineering, and the Company as a whole moves at a very slow unresponsive pace on just about everything. Innovation as a whole seem to be very slow.
