Pros

-Awesome coffee credit -two free machines -the coffee and the product are genuinely good stuff -interesting backstories behind the design of capsules and where the coffee comes from

Cons

-Poor work life balance - poor communication through management - always short staffed - dates for coffee releases/promos are always shifted - favoritism. Essentially no way to move up unless you’re in with someone else

Dear Former Nespresso Employee, Thanks for sharing your views. You are correct, the benefits at Nespresso USA are outstanding, and besides those you listed, we are proud to offer a competitive benefits program and excellent perks. It’s great to read that you enjoyed learning about our Nespresso coffees. Employees can then take this rewarding information to our customers who learn directly from our team of amazing coffee specialists. I would like to touch on a few of your points if I may and offer some healthy remarks: Work life balance is of crucial importance at Nespresso USA, I am open to hear more about what you may have experienced and ways to improve. We appreciate the hard work each employee dedicates to make our company so successful. Regarding communications, teams receive numerous communications via email, newsletters, status updates, live store visits and trainings as well as from managerial posts on our new Workplace platform. The trips we offer our employees to visit Nespresso coffee farms are incredible ways to communicate and learn from each other. Additionally, we continue to pursue forms of communications for all our channels. Regarding coffee release dates, I’m sure you are aware our masterful coffees are shipped direct from our plant in Switzerland to US distribution centers for immediate sale and release. No doubt, once in a while there could be a slight delay in shipping, however, I am not aware of any recent promotional shifts and our teams have been on target during all the crucial sales periods. I don’t believe stating our promos are “always” shifted is accurate. Lastly, we strive to develop and promote our talent from within. The internal transfer and promotion rate for salaried employees last year was 70% and hourly employee rate scored high as well, this is quite significant! Instead of ‘favoritism’ or being ‘in with someone’ what is vital, is outstanding performance ratings, manager recommendations as well as your own career aspirations that are reviewed on your personal development report. Each day, I am so proud to work with winning team members and we continue to build professional and key talent. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me direct should you wish to continue these discussions. Take care, Guilaume Le Cunff President & CEO, Nespresso USA

Pros

It's a flat company which is very good to quickly earn responsibilities. People are really passionate about their brand and the atmosphere is really nice. Great salary package for FMCG and a good work/private life balance. Lot of local or international opportunities within the Nestlé group.

Cons

HQ driven company, for some projects you depend on Switzerland. Since it's a flat company, you must be open to horizontal moves. Great brand but the digital tools used are sometimes outdated.

Pros

I’ve worked here for almost 4 years and could not have made a better decision. Pros: - Generous benefits and time off structure - Fast paced weekends and holidays with enough downtime on slower weekdays to complete projects and tasks - Quarterly coffee/accessory credit and free machines - Attainable sales goals and team-focused atmosphere - Supportive management - Sustainability focused company practices that make you feel good about the organization’s place in the coffee industry

Cons

Cons: - Older POS software that takes some time to get used to - Typical retail negatives such as varying schedules and busy holiday/weekends - Isolated location which can feel removed from the rest of the United States division
