Pros

Amazing people Flexibility and remote work Week of rest in July

Cons

I have been at hubspot 5 years. It was truly an amazing place to work. Things have taken a huge turn in the last year or so. Yamini cares alot more for investors then employees. Toxic Performance culture has taken over. Moving the goalposts on career growth to completely unreachable levels. You can completely kill yourself with work and management don't care or recognize you. This is leading to massive attrition, the best and brightest are moving on in huge numbers. The rest are left totally unmotivated and miserable

Sorry to hear of your frustration, particularly on performance culture. People are still very much free to give fours on reviews-we don't have a forced curve, we just want people to make full use of the ratings and to really push on the why behind whatever number is chosen, hence the focus on calibration. Appreciate you sharing the feedback, hard though it is to read. -Katie

Broken Culture

Pros

- Awesome company on your resume - Arguably the best product in its space - Great tech to help you do your job - Great at diversity and inclusion - Great 12 month ramp for new hires

Cons

- Mid Market leadership and rep turnover is pretty high. - Micromanagement is notoriously high nowadays - Quota attainment is pretty questionable as nearly half the sellers are ramping - Territories sliced and diced every year meaning your territory is the biggest factor in your success and happiness or your failure - Quotas set don’t make sense any longer given prior weightings for quota have all but flown out rhe window

Pros

The culture is great... if you are liberal... and you agree with management. There are a lot of wonderful accommodations and perks.

Cons

The pay is horrendous. The "cult-like" culture rumors are completely true. While the culture claims to be the "best", I have seen managers padding results with fake posts on Glassdoor, and I reported this internally only to find nothing was done. The culture is extremely liberal. It is very closed minded in terms of opinions that aren't in line with the company bureaucracy. I'm liberal, but I'd prefer to leave my political opinions and religious beliefs at the door. The work-life balance is somewhat hit or miss. Some teams have more challenging work than others, but the expectations aren't adjusted accordingly. Managers tend to play favorites, allowing personal feelings to impact productivity. Management is a bit underhanded at times. There was a RIF during covid. It wasn't announced, and it was carried out in an extremely underhanded way. The interview process is ok, but they've let a lot of good talent slip through the cracks based on a process that is weighted towards college graduates and being restrictive in terms of compensation.

Sorry to hear you feel this way-honestly we don't see eye to eye on this one at all, so it's hard for me to respond or engage in a productive way other than to say I'm sorry you feel that way and thank you for your time and feedback here. -Katie
