Pros

Fantastic people to work with, good collaboration between people on projects with a clearly defined goal. Some really knowledgeable but underutilised people who genuinely know what they are talking about.

Cons

CEO's favourite line is 'Capable and Committed Colleagues' when the reality is you're just a number waiting to be ticked off a balance sheet. VERY experienced people's jobs are outsourced and moved offshore with very little handover leaving everyone else to fend for themselves. The place is very outsource heavy, Accenture, Mindtree, SoftServe, BJSS, InfoSys, IBM just to name a few, with very blurred lines between. There's so much hot air and things move at a snails pace with hardly anything getting done. Management are oblivious to the problems on the ground when joining a single call will tell them everything they need to know about why so many projects are delayed or mothballed. They have a quarterly 'Pulse' survey where colleague feedback has been ignored or brushed under the carpet for years. As a Currys veteran, sadly, I completely lack confidence in the IT transformation strategy.

Hi there, Thank you for leaving a review. We're glad to hear you value the team environment. Thank you for your review. We value your feedback and we wanted to take a moment to respond to your points. In our retail stores we do have targets to achieve, but our focus is on the customer. By offering the right product ranges and services for their needs, we are making our customers happy and achieving store performance targets. We are here to help our customers enjoy amazing technology and have been investing in staff training. At a lot of our stores and sites, we have introduced schemes such as ‘babble boards’ and feedback boxes to help provide an easy way of giving anonymous feedback straight to senior leaders. We also encourage all our colleagues to have an open and honest conversation with HR to solve any concerns. Thanks, the team at Currys.

Our company encourages an open and honest working environment between line managers and colleagues. We also provide all colleagues with access to our confidential colleague helpline for times when it’s not easy to have a particular conversation with your line manager. Thanks, the team at Currys.

Pros

Some really good street smart people Entrepreneurial to some extent Pays well at the level I was

Cons

Toxic environment and they don't care for employees. I was part of the senior management club and then I ran into some serious health crisis and issues. I survived and then came back from long health leave (3 months) and when divisional HRBP saw me for the first time she made a very insensitive remark "Oh you are back!! We are were not expecting you to come back". 2 weeks down the line they made me redundant. Now I was still coping with health issues (getting better but on Chemo) and then lost my health insurance through work and also didn't have a job (single earner in the family). I had reasonable grounds to take you to court but I decided againt it I had reasonable grounds to take these guys to to court but I decided against it as I didn't want the negativity in my life. By god's grace, I am doing well now and doing much better in life from all aspects but this company is disgusting. Absolutely hate this company and some of the people involved during my last 6 months at this company.

Hi there, Thank you for leaving a review. We're glad to hear you value the benefits. We appreciate your feedback and we wanted to take a moment to respond to your points. Having Capable and Committed Colleagues is a top priority, and we want to help all our colleagues stay fit and well. All colleagues have access to an Aviva Digital GP app and an Aviva Wellbeing benefits app, so it's important to get access to health and wellbeing information and support quickly. We also encourage colleagues to have an open and honest conversation with their line manager about any concerns and we provide all colleagues with access to our confidential colleague helpline for times when it’s not easy to have a particular conversation with your line manager. If you want to discuss this further, we encourage you to get in touch with us. Thanks, the team at Currys.
