      Pros

      The coffee is awesome and when in a properly managed store, the overall morale is extremely high. I have never dreaded going to work. For the most part, all partners are more than willing to pick up some slack when the going gets tough. Starbucks screens all potential partners well. Very few "Negative Nancies" slip through the cracks.

      Cons

      You go home smelling like spoiled milk if you have a rough day on the espresso bar; and, of course, some of the customers can get a little out of hand with our "Just say Yes" policy. That is true of any business in which you are dealing with the public, not just Starbucks.

      A learning "experience".

      Pros

      Great people in many areas of the business that are smart, passionate and love the brand. Good stepping stone job.

      Cons

      Group think, clicks, and management is very out of touch. Creativity and having a voice is frowned on in many areas. Not much room for growth or development. Talent and performance are secondary to being a favorite or being little of a career threat to one's direct supervisor.

      Good company, workers deserve better pay and advancement opportunities

      Pros

      It's a really well-performing company especially in this economy. The people are always nice,always has a smile on their face. They love their job and its evident. However, much is needed to improve their lifestyle.

      Cons

      Pay workers better. My wife has been a Barista for almost 6 years (July 2010) and she is now at $10.56 an hour. I started at Costco in a seasonal role @ $11.00 per hour. It doesn't make any sense. Her reviews have been stellar for the past 6 years and isn't being paid fairly. You cannot live on $11.00 an hour. Starbucks needs to realize this.
