Pros

The compensation is decent, and they have free coffee.

Cons

Company is run by inept management, who only care about their perception, not the qaulity of the product they produce or design. They knowingly ship defunct product to maintain schedule. If you have any sense of integrity, do not bother applying here. The turnover has been so high, their is only one person left (If he is still there) who fully understands the product. Everyone else is new, and over their head.

Pros

Honestly, the only positive is gaining insight into how dysfunctional a supply chain can become in aerospace

Cons

Unmanageable workload, toxic culture, supplier chaos, unhappy staff, lack of any recognition, high staff turnover - dumping ground for every unresolved issues in supply chain, you are constantly overloaded with unrealistic deadlines and no support from leadership. People who can leaves the places and hence most staff are with less than 2 years within business.

Pros

Other than the core hours (9-4, I think), you have flexible working. Some of the people on site are really nice. Any "research and development" role is more like a "reuse and de-obsolete" role, so no need to worry about innovation.

Cons

Processes that should be short, take far too long. You'll be told that it's "because we're aerospace", however, working in a "Research and Development" role, there is no valid reason circuit boards should take 8+ months to be fabricated after schematic capture. However, not reverse bay parking in the carpark results in being told off like school children within an hour (I received an email from the general manager with a photo of my car, a telling off, a threat of no forward access to the site, and a good majority of the Senior Leadership team in CC). Compentancy is weighted on how long you've been at the company, rather than skill. Career progression seems unlikely. No scope for training, or even getting any resources (such as a £100 book), even if you have been asking for 4 or 5 months, with promises of getting said resource. Many empty promises, so don't be fooled with clauses such as "pay reviews nine months after joining the company " in your contract, as I, and others, have found out, they do not happen. Even with HR's promises before you join. Expect to have to wait weeks for software to be installed (if Safran even allows it, try and use Google at Safran, they make it very difficult!) since the IT ticket process is a shambles and you have to wait for someone to come and manually install software. Hyperfocus on 6S (clean desk, labelled draws, no coats on chairs, reverse parking only), whilst engineering is almost out of scope of management. General manager is on a power trip and is quickly becoming a dictator, process are unbearably long and completely out dated. No real chance of being able to work remotely, or even away from desk since getting a laptop is almost impossible. No support from IT. Expect any good ideas of yours to be taken from people above, and don't expect any credit for good work. Car park "policy" is incredibly enforced, so dont cross any white lines or, expect a displinary/termination. Changes mean you're likely to be working Christmas, and they've got scrapped dress down Friday.
