Skilled engineers, but also friendly, open minded, always ready to share experience, make STMicroelectronics a very good place to learn; Also young engineers are involved in important and advanced projects; Plenty of nice locations worldwide, internal mobility is somehow allowed (sometimes this is the best way to grow); Very good high-technology projects.
Cons
Bad place if you seek for a fast career: regardless of your skills, seniority is more important; Salary low and stagnant, so it cannot be meritocratic; The top managers are too busy with reorganizations to follow the company, and continuous unjustified reorganizations generate low efficiency and a general chaos; According to some Italian newspapers (www.cataniatoday.it), another general reorganization will be announced next week.
