Pros

With the economy better can find another job. They toss you $10 gift cards and pizza lunches

Cons

Total lack of training when you are working with people's payroll! Their multi-product division is nothing but a joke, MINIMAL amount of training and you are assigned clients before you are finished training! That is why clients leave when their payroll gets messed up! Try to brainwash you with their values when they don't even follow them. Corporate sends out mass email to all employees to go on Glassdoor to give kudos?!???

Pros

They have a decent program for small business’s ranging from 5-50 employees. However it’s still nowhere near competitive enough to be successful without using slimy sales tactics.

Cons

There was ZERO training. My manager Chris Jones was the definition of a micro-manager. He spent more time trying to become Tik-Tok famous vs focusing on the core values the company and expects everyone to do the work for him without any guidance. He was a complete joke! They will make it seem like rainbow and unicorns in the interview process, but after starting, things went dark very quick. TOXIC work environment is not even the right word to define the management style they created. I had to pull teeth just to get my gas expense reimbursed that Paychex guarantees in the job offer. It’s not a place I’d recommend my worst enemy to work for. They offer “unlimited” PTO, however they wouldn’t let an employee take off more than a couple days while their loved one was in hospice. After starting, a scary amount of employees left to start a healthier work experience,. The turnover rate is as high as it gets, due to poor management and the toxic work culture they have implemented.

Pros

Benefits and coworkers on team

Cons

Where do I even begin. Since covid 19 this company has really disappointed with the lack of care for their employees. I cry everyday because I am so miserable . the amount of stress they put on payroll specialist is insane. They keep piling loads of work on us and offer no hazard pay or raises for the workload they have already added to our busy schedule. It feels like there are no other departments to help us as we are now having to do retentions job. What are the points of the other departments if we have to handle the taxes, 401k, etc. I feel so burned out and stressed. My own mental health and famuly life is struggling due to this. Paychex only seems to care about the money and not their own employees well being. They preach values but do not follow them. Worst job I have ever had.
