Dear Former Employee,
We appreciate your feedback regarding your job function, however, there is room for some healthy disagreement to your posting. I’m sure any retailer can confirm sales positions require substantial standing, although the fact you stated you were made to feel uncomfortable for taking a break, is a surprise and definitely not in line with our guidelines. During my boutique visits throughout the country, this is the first time I have heard about this type of issue. Your opinion is important to us, but again, had we been notified during your employment we definitely would have provided support and any needed improvements.
We offer our coffee specialists a great training program which includes all facets of the business, our products and sales opportunities. Teams are not advised to “push” our customers, rather, ‘serving’ our customers while reaching sales goals as overall performance is valued. Thank you for taking pride in our customers which is first and foremost.
You mentioned, “you have to learn so much about things that are not important”, wouldn’t you agree the more one learns on the job will only help to improve his or her knowledge as well as prepare them for future roles?
Lastly, we strive to develop and promote our talent from within. The internal transfer and promotion rate for salaried employees last year was 70%, which means a lot to us! Hourly employee promotion rate scored high as well. Instead of ‘connections’, what is vital, is outstanding performance ratings, manager recommendations as well as your own career aspirations that are reviewed on your personal development report.
Please reach out directly to me, if you care to discuss further, happy to listen.
Take care,
Guillaume Le Cunff
