Pros

Yearly bonus Monthly coffee allowance Free machine

Cons

By far the most disrespectful and negative environment I have ever worked in in almost 10 years of hospitality and retail. Management have not respect for staff members and engage in bullying of others. When confronted about bullying in the store, managers deny claims and accuse the defedent of being paranoid. Managers use fear mongering techniques and intimidate staff into silence. Would not recommend to anyone

Pros

* You might get some freedom, if you're (very) lucky. * Their interview process was one of the best around Lausanne, which lead them to hire skilled engineers - not sure if that is still the case

Cons

Most of their IT suck. It starts with the clunky infrastructure, heavily based on puppet, with very average sys-admins (some are barely able to write a script or understand the red hat package manager). Unfortunately as a software developer you must get through them to have anything deployed. Then their applications... it starts with the infamous Nesclub2, based on Hybris, written by a cohort of junior Moroccan developers (in Morocco). Then the even worse Nesclub3 supposed to work with SAP (no comment), written by another bunch of juniors (this time from Italy)... A lot of their tools seem to come from the 90's, reflecting their management practices, which is the worst part of Nespresso. Managers (some are called 'architects') are literally clueless and are just good at one thing: politics. That's really what differentiates an engineering company from a cafe company: in a cafe company, IT guys are just seen as labourers that are totally expandable.

Pros

Strong brand growth. Free product allotments. Fairly good salary and time off.

Cons

Manage through fear and nothing positive. Internally focused with no concern or value for the outside world or industry standard practices. While Nestle USA seems to be ahead, Nespresso has no technology to speak of. What little HQ touches seems to break. The US President cares mostly about Colombian farmers, sustainability, recycling, safety, and global issues. While these are all admirable what about Nespresso USA and its employees? HR can not be trusted. Don't waste your time if you have any outside knowledge.

Hello, At Nespresso, Coffee is at the heart everything we do and defines our Brand journey. I will take your comments about caring for the farmers, sustainability, recycling, global issues and safety as a compliment. These topics are our top priorities. Additionally, the strong focus on safety that you refer to also demonstrates our commitment to the wellbeing and safety of all employees. As such, we are aligned with Nestlé’s commitment to Creating Shared Value and thus, acknowledge that people are our greatest asset. We respond to a rapidly changing world and highly competitive employment market by providing training and education for our employees. To answer your remark on promotion, currently YTD 58% of the open jobs for all salaried positions including Boutiques management are filled with internal employees. We value all employees and we follow specific guidelines to assess our employees’ skills and promote internal talent whenever an internal profile matches a job opening. If you have more specifics you want us to look into, please contact me or our confidential employee help-line at 888-424-2409. Thank you. Guillaume Le Cunff President @ Nespresso USA
