Pros

Flexible work schedule and options

Cons

HubSpot has been steadily declining year over year. Employee morale is at an all-time low, with benefits being scaled back and cutbacks happening across the board. They've also been quietly laying people off for 'performance,' but what's worse is that they repost those jobs with no intention of actually hiring anyone, just to make it look like the company is growing.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. Two things we’d love to respond to: Benefit Changes Recent benefit changes were made to ensure market competitiveness and maximize the value of our programs within an allocated budget. While benefits will evolve over time, we prioritize the employee experience and make these trade offs and decisions carefully. Any benefit that has changed or been scaled back has been in order to add or improve an additional employee benefit. “Layoffs” HubSpot manages performance with utmost integrity and appropriate process. Like any company, we do expect all HubSpotters perform the expectations of your role, and naturally some people will leave due to performance reasons. We can assure anybody reading this that any open role on our careers site is real, and that HubSpot continues to grow! -The People Team

Pros

- Good tech stack, very easy to work with. - Enjoyable work. Although this varies by team. - Good teammates - Product meet ups are fun

Cons

- New HR policies have been completely tone deaf. - EU employees get a fraction of stocks of US now, refreshers are only for high performers. - PTO benefits like week of rest and unlimited holidays are gone. Yet leadership wants you to use 5 of your own holidays for a specific week in July to suit the US. Somehow they tried to sell this as a benefit gain, not cut. We’re not children. - Performance is very closely monitored, e.g. PR counts - CTO has explicitly said he doesn’t want HS to be known for his benefits, he’s certainly got his way. - Sabbatical benefit is gone for new employees. - Culture is now a lure. - AI is being shoe horned where it shouldn’t be.

Thanks for your note. I am inserting our response to a similar comment around why we added guidelines to PTO: Regarding our recent shift to Flexible PTO, this change was made to provide more clarity, fairness, and predictability around time off. While unlimited PTO offers autonomy, it creates uncertainty and inconsistency. This adjustment ensures everyone can take time off with confidence allowing HubSpot to maintain operational balance and deliver to our customers. Our goal is a sustainable and equitable approach to time off that benefits both our employees and our customers. A couple of other points to clear up: Compensation and equity is determined based on the market in which an employee resides. If you travel, you will appreciate how wildly the cost of labor differs across the globe and as a result, companies anchor their compensation to the market in which an employee resides versus choosing globally consistent compensation and equity ranges. The benefits of a global 'one week shutdown' are huge given it creates an opportunity for everyone to completely unplug. As stated when announced, 2025 will be a test and learn year for us around week of rest and whether it makes sense to retain going forward knowing that this week in July does not make sense for all countries around the world, however the sentiment for maintaining it remains very strong. The opportunity to take a 4 week sabbatical every 5 years (whilst continuing to be paid) remains an exciting and popular HubSpot benefit. The only thing that has been taken away is the additional cash lump sum (which we will not remove for anyone in the company at the time of announcement - only to people joining post announcement) that accompanied the original program. We felt the benefit was compelling enough and chose to make a trade off by reallocating funds to areas where we were under market. - The People Team

Pros

1. Money is insane if you are in certain product roles 2. Some very smart people still work here, just more have left.

Cons

Been here 8+ years, since CEO change management has slowly pushed into a more toxic Amazon style org with petty politics and stack rankings. Vacation benefits are so badly misrepresented it’s crazy. Hard limits on unlimited PTO with enough red tape you’ll be lucky in US to ever get even two weeks vacation unless you are super senior.
