Pros

Generally we have a flexible work environment, although this probably varies by area. I assume there is good career growth based on how many young managers, directors, etc. there are.

Cons

I'm underpaid compared with similar positions at other local companies. I would have thought that a software company would value their engineers a bit more.

* Work / life balance * Travel and tech is a cool combination * Big brand * Cash comp / benefits package is fair but not spectacular * Offices (but they are going away) * Convenient commute (but it will get worse for Seattle residents)

Cons

* Technology leadership is running the company like an IT group rather than innovation engine * Bureaucracy is stifling * Nobody talks about innovation just "budget" * Weak leadership in tech team - either "last man standing" after departures or retreads brought in from the 70s (really) * Stock compensation is poor / non-existent

Pros

The benefits package is very competitive. If you know the right people you can go far in the company.

Cons

In my particular department, it has been my experience that the more underhanded and sneaky you are, you get what you want. I have watched great talent walked out the door when all they have tried to do is stand up for what is right.
