Pros

- some people are nice - some snacks in the kitchen - fly to Paris for team building - collaborate with people from different backgrounds

Cons

- some people are extremely rough around the edges - favoritism is alive and well - CEO is very short with people (if they asked how you would work with having the CEO so close to you THIS is why) - NO organization - faux culture ( trying to replicate the French atmosphere in NY but it’s not working ) - mediocre benefits

Corporate toxic culture

Pros

The only good thing that remains is the wellbeing budget and being able to keep a good work-life balance by being remote (currrent ex-hotjar and some selected contentsquare employees only, new employees will have to work on a hybrid model)

Cons

Where to start... this company bought Hotjar just to eliminate the competition and get it's costumer base, they destroyed everything Hotjar was as a company and it's product (it is being absorbed into Contentsquare), laid-off many of it's employees and who is left is leaving everyday, there is a mass exodus and management just doesn't care, because this was the plan all along, to reduce the head count, in order to get more profits, and put more pressure in the ones who don't have a choice but stay. What did they expect when they removed most of the perks, reduced paid leave and changed from the Hotjar global to local salary bands? They froze the salaries and any possibility of a career progression of people living in "low cost of living" countries. The local salary bands are ridiculously low, If people chose to work remotely for a global company, obviously they don't want to get paid the same as the local market. Management doesn't have a strategy or clue of what they are doing, relying only on the current ex-Hotjar employees to drive things forward, so let's see where this will take them when the rest of them leave. Company culture is toxic, full of corporate bureaucracy, pressure and micromanagement.

Thank you for the thorough review. We care about the overall well-being of our employees and are committed to providing the best employee experience. Benefits are a key part of that commitment. We offer multiple benefits including well-being allowances and support, generous PTO policies, personal & professional developmental opportunities, flexible work location policies, and equity to name a few. With the integration of Heap and Hotjar, we strove to reach a middle ground for all three companies in terms of the benefits offered, which resulted in changes to the perks and benefits now available for some. Our offerings today are competitive and we will continue to monitor, adapt, and improve our offerings every year. Again, we appreciate your feedback and will continue to concentrate on building a robust, inclusive, and forward-thinking team at Contentsquare.

No job growth and promised no layoffs, just to do layoffs a month later. US team doesn't know what they are doing and are BURNING through money

Thanks for the feedback and very sorry to hear that you felt disappointed by your growth opportunities and the capability of our US team at CS. Arriving to the decision of reducing our workforce was not an easy one by any means and it is always tricky to strike the right balance between transparency and confidentiality when navigating as delicate of a situation as a restructure. We wish you all the best.
