      No interest in staff

      Pros

      There is 20% discount to staff. Staff, but not managers, friendly.

      Cons

      Managers are scared of regional managers and their visits are treated like a visiting pope. Staff have to keep a Performance & Achievement Log which must be carried with you all the time. B&Q consider almost any incident a matter for a disciplinary measure. I've worked there 12 months and over 20 have left company. Staff are not appreciated and treated and spoke to as if young children.

      Pros

      20% discount, no even that good compared to other companies, other than that there aren't any other pros to the job.

      Cons

      No full time contracts even though they want you to work 30+ hours, then when it comes to holidays they only want to pay you 8. No weekends off, awkward hours. Bosses that think they know everything Always issues with pay come payday

      Pros

      Pay not bad, can get more hours, good colleagues, good holidays if you stay with company for a period of time

      Cons

      No benefits for Sunday, yes you can get extra hours but then you only get your basic for holidays. no support from management and they appoint people only interested in company. There in lies problem new front end supervisor who has no management skills or how to talk to staff and so follows the exodus of staff.
