      Pros

      The company tries to look out for the best interest of it's employees with good pay and benefits. There are many ways for employees to give leaders feedback.

      Cons

      Not enough training when you start a new job. Poor IT systems and not enough training on what we do have. Too much nit picking and and not enough attention given to the core business.

      You will find many opportunities for career growth and advancement. Career mentoring and support are very much available. Leaders are always willing to help you define your goals and how to accomplish them.

      It is a very large company and politics can be very difficult to understand.

      Pros

      I have to say the best reason to work for Amex is to obtain work experience related to the industry you are in. Many companies out there are willing to listed to what Amex has to offer them simply because of the brand name and people's preconception that Amex = Great Customer Service.

      Cons

      The most senior level management seems to turn a cold shoulder to the effects of many of the less than thought out decisions that are made. The training of new hires is little to non existent. In order to succeed, you must seek to learn the position on your own otherwise you will be shown the door.
