Pros

1. Very low Stress Level at work. 2. No one forces to work on weekends 3. No force for doing overtime 4. They serve tea/coffee at your desk twice a day. 5. HR team is good. They listen to your queries and even provide a solution. 6. Admin team is good and helpful. They take care of the issues promptly. 7. Management in any company varies from person to person. So I cannot generalize for the entire organization.

Cons

1. Age old products, so you basically do maintenance work rather than new development. And maintenance issues are too basic and repetitive. I lost interest because of that. 2. They have strict 8 hour policy . Lunch and Toilet breaks not included. So you end up spending more hours in office if you like to eat lunch slow or you have an upset stomach. 3. There were lay-offs recently .So you do not have job security. 4. They say they have senior technical guys but you have to understand that these are the guys who joined Yardi during early days. These people have only diplomas in computers which establishes their competency level. They have spent their life here maintaining the existing code base. So you do not learn anything new neither from project nor from your seniors. 5. There is no onsite opportunity. They send you for a month at maximum and with the bare minimum allowances.Since it is you first trip abroad and you like to explore, you end up paying from your own pocket. I know HR will argue that this is for business purpose but all employees know they do this so you get the satisfaction of going abroad .There is no real extra work/client interaction that you do there. You do what you do in India. So in short they give you a round trip ticket with some pocket money for daily food and that is it. Plus their offices in USA and UK are in very remote locations. So you have to travel a lot to tour the cities.

Pros

Health insurance was paid for, which was nice.

Cons

An expectation that you work a lot of overtime because this dept was short-staffed. No real recognition for it. The only people who get "recognized for their hard work" are a select few that are management's favorites. Very little flexibility with your schedule. I guess they'd rather have people quit than work the schedule around so that people actually get to see their families. The manager in my department didn't "believe in" mental health days. Not enough PTO. Not compensated well enough for a job that requires you to actively been working your entire day. I was not allowed to finish out my two weeks. Despite being nothing but a good employee who never caused problems or came in late, I was told that would be my last day. I wasn't allowed to go pack up my things or say goodbye to the people I had worked with. Kind of weird. I get that this is a business that handles very sensitive information and they'd like to avoid disgruntled employees, but still.

It sounds like you weren’t happy with your role in the Waltham office. This is a growing office and it sounds like you were kept busy. We encourage a healthy work-life balance and communication between employees and their managers, as well as with HR. Best of luck in your future endeavors.

We see you are frustrated with your experience and take comments like this very seriously. Over the past several years in the Sydney office, we have had a number of initiatives to increase communication and internal cooperation by holding a monthly “all hands meeting” in which each department head speaks. These meetings also provide employees the ability to anonymously submit questions prior to the forum to be discussed. We would also like to remind you that every Yardi employee who had been with us for more than three months (all 5300) received a bonus last year. Additional bonuses are also given for exceptional work. Salespeople may not see increases in their bases, but other factors generally are adjusted annually. We encourage you to reach out to HR to further discuss your concerns. Feedback is always appreciated and we are always working on improving the culture when needed.
