Pros

Colleagues and direct supervisors are always helpful and attentive. 401k profit sharing is great.

Cons

New executive management seems out of touch with reality. The business update meetings are cringe listening to an overpaid executive telling his subordinates if he can go in 5 days a week, we all can. Hoping this isn’t what is coming down the pipeline as I would imagine most of the workforce would quit, as salaries are well below market trends. And no HR, I don’t need your copy and paste answer on how you are competitive because if you can read the reviews over the last couple of months, the overall concesus is we don’t get paid enough but have dealt with it because we were able to work remotely. Now, thanks to new management, that isn’t the case. Does the new management team plan on giving us additional pay for gas, child care, or toll roads? As most of us acclimated to the pandemic and inflation, that meant moving or downsizing to be able to afford to live. Now with this new policy of going in once a week, most of my coworkers have to travel 1.5 hrs+, find child care, or leave their partner carless and all for what? To *collaborate* with your team? That’s funny considering Yardi downsized to one floor and most of the time we don’t sit by our team. Managers and Team Leads can’t find an office so they’re left trying to find a desk on the other side of the floor. Conference rooms are booked all day. People are like zombies - there’s zero collaboration so I’m not sure where HR is saying working in the office allows for an *organic connection* with your team, as the only organic thing I see are the oranges rotting in the kitchen. It’s just checking off a box and not benefiting anyone in anyway. HR claims employees that work together in the office are much further along in their subject matter knowledge. I wonder where they got that from, as it certainly wasn’t from a self-study conducted at Yardi, as we have been working remotely for 4 years and the company has benefited substantially by hitting all goals. Also, thanks executive team for the *incentive* to go in by providing us with snacks and lunch once a month. It’s giving some serious Severence vibes. While I love my team and clients, not sure how much longer we all can last. Not to mention, the turnover was finally settling down and they threw this curveball. Nothing boosts team morale more than taking on another task of training more new hires on top of our already busy schedules. Since we have worked from home, Yardi has hit every goal set in place year of year all while working remotely. We implemented new platforms and services, became experts, and superseded our revenue goals. And where’s the money going? Definitely not to our salaries, but instead snacks. Yardi’s corporate motto is to take care of our clients, take care of our employees, take care of our communities, stay focused, and grow. First, I would bet our clients haven’t noticed we’ve been working from home the last 4 years as our customer services has most likely surpassed their expectations. Working from home has allowed us to readily take on calls, cases, and escalations without the distraction of our peers or constant WiFi outages, as our headquarters can’t take on the amount of employees working from the office without breaking or causing a severe lag. Second, It’s time Yardi reviews the updates and changes set forth by this new management team because you are violating your own corporate motto of taking care of your employees. A one size fits all approach to this new hybrid schedule is not beneficial. What set Yardi apart from the rest was we thought Yardi embraced the new era of a work from home environment, as the numbers speak for themselves. Research shows companies that enforce mandatory return to work policies are more likely to experience turnover issues, so buckle up. You will lose your top performers. You will see disengagement. You will see burn out. Maybe instead of focusing on a half-baked forced in office collaboration, focus on employee engagement. The good news is, employee engagement has proven successful already for the last 4 years.

Yardi allows employees to work 80% of the time from wherever they feel most productive, which we think is fair and allows our employees work/life balance. We are sorry to hear that you are not a happier employee, and we wish you all the best in finding a new company that better meets your personal and professional needs.

Pros

Good benefits, innovative technology, pay was good.

Cons

Where should I begin? My experience was a complete nightmare. There is miscommunication throughout the organization in the Dallas office. I cannot speak for any other office, although I have been told that other offices are much better. This was my first full time job that was going to be long term. I had come across contract jobs and I was ready to find something permanent. I was ready to take this role at Yardi because I felt this would be a nice company for me to grow. They brand themselves as being a place for growth and learning with a diverse staff. I truly believe this is the culture in some places but not all. I started on 3/1 virtually. There is a ton of information given through three weeks of training. We are often told training is like “drinking from a water hose/fire hydrant.” It’s a lot of information, seriously but it was fun. Training was informative and we got to interact with other new people. This felt inviting. We are constantly warned behind the scenes by other employees to avoid a particular manager because he’s racists and sexists. I decided I would do my job, stay out of the way and work hard until I get to another team. Throughout my few weeks of training, there were no expectations given about when we would be ready to communicate with clients. We were often told that we can start doing that once we’re comfortable because there’s no way for us to know everything after being here for less than a month.. okay. That was reassuring to me. I stayed after many days to ensure I was reading up and working on the software and the features. You cannot record overtime so no, there is no record but why would I lie? I’m already not employed here. The second week of training, I found myself literally begging for my job. I was told already that this wouldn’t be a good fit by this manager and I was going to be fired. Because I’m taking my time learning a new topic that I was told by HR wasn't required prior to the role? Okay. The team lead insisted for this manger to give me additional time to learn and I continued to bust my butt to learn. After a few weeks in training, I could see the needed areas for the role. This includes: technical knowledge, customer service & ACCOUNTING. If you don’t have accounting knowledge, don’t bother. Actually, maybe you’ll be given the chance to learn??? After all they do claim that it takes about a year to learn Yardi accounting, but why wasn’t I given normal timeframes? Anyways, I have an additional meeting with the team lead to discuss accounting topics & I have her two and that was that. At this point, I have not had ANY chance to show/prove what I have learned, speak with a client, etc. I have internet issues Friday and speak with the team lead throughout the day about this and then one PTO day which was APPROVED by the Director. I come back on a Tuesday - FIRED. Just like that. Reason why: Because I was not ready to take chats. Myself along with the other two new hires on the team had not been given the opportunity to take chats alone, handle emails, etc because we had JUST completed our first week of shadowing. So how is it that I am fired for not taking chats when none of the new people on MY team have taken chats, spoken to clients, etc? I was told in the firing meeting by HR that I told the manager that I was not ready to take chats and that I’m being fired because of that. I was also told that I would jeopardize the relationship that yardi has with the clients if I had the chance to speak with clients. I was then told I would be able to ask questions at the end by HR. Once I try to ask a question about when did I ever make that statement to the manager, I was told by HR to “let’s not make this harder than what it needs to be”. UM HELLO?? I just lost my job??? This isn’t hard for you, this is hard for me! The person being fired for no reason without any proof that I was “unfit”. I am a computer science degreed black man, who has had plenty of client facing roles prior. What do you mean I would jeopardize the relationship? Why lie and say I told you all I was not ready to take chats when I have never told anyone in the organization that? There’s just so many questions and I was not given any answers. But a BS excuse on why I was fired and rudeness from management and HR.

We take pride in our culture and live by our corporate motto ‘to take care of our clients, take care of our employees, and take care of our communities’. As a minority owned company, we strive to create a diverse, inclusive and respectful culture that supports our continued growth. While there is usually more than one side of a story, it sounds like Yardi was not the best fit for you and we wish you the best in your future.

Pros

The most significant "pro" is free insurance. There are a few great people working in middle management, but they are quickly being weeded out.

Cons

Yardi has become a fairly miserable place to work. The pay is so low that the majority of the people who are qualified and good at their jobs have either left or are looking for any opportunity to get out. Because some critical departments are so understaffed, instead of hiring more people and getting things stabilized, upper management decided to re-structure my team increasing the workload and placing over half of the people with a manager that had no experience or knowledge about their subordinates' job and responsibilities. Upper management does not seem to place any value on the recommendations of middle management, so decisions are made without consideration of the specific factors in play. My particular office also had a serious problem with nepotism and employee referrals. It got a few good people working there and a whole lot more with horrible work ethics or who were flat out incapable of performing the duties of an entry level job. By the end of the time I worked at the company, I spent over half of my time either correcting the mistakes of people management had instructed to do all of the "grunt work" or try to explain the problem and train the people actually doing the work. The company has a policy of outsourcing everything that they can to Pune, India and Cluj, Romania. I don't have an issue with that per se, but the plan is to outsource everything without providing anyone with proper training.
