Pros

- Sales training is still one of the best in the world - very passionate trainers who sold in the old days. - Skills you get in this job are very transferrable and will help you in any other job in the future - Personal development and ability to get business acumen knowledge - Ability to learn about different verticals and industries - being much more well-rounded.

Cons

- Almost working for free - very marginal commissions - Working really hard and then still owing Xerox money for overpayment, negative commissions. All you keep hearing is how great the company is and how much money you will make, however, the reality is so different from it. - Very unethical and management works hard on brainwashing their reps – encouraging a lot of refinancing and to just push another box in– customer is the last party the company thinks about. - So slow to adapt to new outsourcing solutions, software and services and don’t even support them post-sale. So happy to be out of it!

Pros

Lots of available hours, ample overtime. Colorful staff. Opportunities to meet random interesting strangers over the phone. Lots of lovely trees surrounding the office to look at from your cubical stall. Kiebo Cafe eggrolls.

Cons

Terrible incentive pay system based around cutting employee wages for poor reviews rather than providing positive incentives for excellent performance, clearly designed as a ploy to reduce wages whenever possible. Unsupportive supervisory staff (A few exceptions.) Poor corporate culture based off of a "fake it until you make it" attitude Mandatory overtime. Constant turnover and absenteeism. Few advancement opportunities. Childish supervisory staff more concerned with making their job easier than supporting agents on the floor.

Pros

There is always someone to commiserate with.

Cons

Not enough time in the world for this section. Slave labor, pitiful salary in relation to hours worked, management makes zero attempt to allow for work-life balance, management refuses to acknowledge you until you resign, zero training or support for new technology...the list goes on.
