Definitely not a 'People's Company'

Pros

A nice new office floor

Cons

Avoid at all costs. For a self proclaimed peoples company, management is littered with politics. You're told the chiefs of staff acts as a confidante and advisor, however warned to stay away and "not trust" by the majority of colleagues you meet. Sadly this is also the same person who appears to decide which projects you will be involved in. Being placed with a client, depends on how management feel that morning, again highlighting the ever present politics associated with Wavestone. Currently taking interviews at other consulting firms. Dont make the mistake I did.

Wavestone is built on trust, respect, diversity and equality. Our process for placing consultants onto projects not only takes into account the client requirements and capabilities of the consultant but also the personal development journey that each consultant is on. This process is a collective one with contributions by key personnel across the practice and decisions are not made in isolation or without appropriate inclusion and discussion with all relevant parties. People are at the centre of what we do and are critical to our strategy and growth.

Pros

Nothing worthwhile to describe here

Cons

I joined before the acquisition. On the very first day when I went to office I was suprised to find that most of my colleagues would not greet me or even say hello. Though I felt really bad, I Iet it not bother me. But then this happened even with some members of the leadership team. I would go into meetings and this so called leader would not even acknowledge me, but would be cracking jokes with some of his other colleagues. But soon I realised that this was the company culture and it continued for months. Things did not change even after the acquisition. On the work front, there were no projects and no one really cared about new hires, especially at analyst level. Could not wait to get out of this acidic environment.

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry that you did not have a good experience. I would just like to take the opportunity to respond to your comments. At Wavestone, all of our new analysts are assigned a Career Development Manager and a buddy so that they have a support system in place to make them feel welcome from their first day. Additionally, many induction meetings are arranged for your first few weeks, giving you the opportunity to meet various members of the team and learn more about the business. We also arrange a welcome lunch for all new joiners in their first few days so that they can get to know their fellow employees. We pride ourselves on our sense of community and friendship here at Wavestone and this is demonstrated by our monthly team meetings, various office committees, social events throughout the year, annual charity day and company Ski trip among other things. We have taken your feedback on board and will ensure we continue to promote a welcoming and friendly office environment

Few things to save

Pros

The relationship with the junior and same level colleagues was good. Usually a lot of smart guys. They have a decent benefit package (not as good as Big4).

Cons

Management self referential, sometimes arrogant and politically incorrect. Projects really poor in terms of content. Commercial politics basically not existing. Location in Luxembourg to be reviewed for a company like a consultancy one that should live on the image it gives. Attention to employees needs to be reviewed.
