      A Pretty good company to work for overall.

      Pros

      competitive starting pay if you bring some experience to the table, management is very competent for the most part

      Cons

      Market teams are out of the loop completely when it comes to the daily workings of a store. Bennifits could be better, but their not THAT bad. Policies contradict each other often. Due to recent law suits, it is almost impossible to get a promotion as a white male.

      Pros

      Diversity in products and services. Some very nice people. Good location near the city. High base salaries, good bonuses. Opportunities to learn many things about retail industry.

      Cons

      kool-aid mentality - drink it or get out; talented and inspiring people get pushed out by the unethical and machiavellian type A's. Company sells lots of poorly made, cheap products to unsuspecting consumers. Very broken down multichannel process between dotcom and stores.

      Immediate mgr is great senior mgmt is less than desirable

      Pros

      It is great if you have a good mgr. My immediate mgr is great since leaving the company I still have contact with all of them. I would go back and work for them. However WalMarts biggest downfall is their senior mgmt district and higher. They do not know what it is like to run a Pharmacy. They are also afraid of being sued so they are timid at times when they need to be stern. If they would let the Pharmacy Mgr run their pharmacy like it is their own they would do a lot better in profits. It would be a better place to work if they let this happen

      Senior mgmt. they do not understand what it is like to run a dept or work in one. They definitely have no clue about Pharmacy.
