Pros

Insurance and advancement opportunities. They'll start you off at a decent wage and have no problem promoting you if you are a team player.

Cons

Inconsistent management.Your Assistant Manager will tell you to do something that the Support Manager will tell you to ignore or vice-versa, your Assistant Manager will have you finish the job of the previous shift before you ever start on your own and then will tell you that you are not carrying your weight.Assistant Managers seem to be more interested in you ignoring your home life and remembering where your paycheck comes from.Got the flu? Come to work.Black Ice keeping everyone else off the road? Come to work.Kid's got Malaria? Come to work.

Pros

Pharmacy is closed on all major holidays and each day for one-half hour for lunch break, a rarity among competitors. My store was fully staffed with competent technicians who enjoyed their jobs. Above average use of of technology in filling aspects of job improve efficiency and free up time for counseling, insurance troubleshooting, etc.

Cons

The same downsides of other retail pharmacies are of course present, sometimes worse being in a supercenter..."hey where's the bread at"..."when does the photo department open" "can I check out with my groceries here", etc.

Pros

wal-mart was the only place that hired me out of technician school. other places required 1 year experience.

Cons

low pay, wal-mart"s $4.00 prescription plan has doubled total number of prescriptions done on a daily basis, yet the staff has not increased. employees are over-worked. pharmacy is looked down upon by store management.
