Pros

Huge amount of benefits such as eating out at places and priority tickets plus 25 percent discount at John Lewis. Bonus!

Cons

The hourly pay isn't great. Holiday system is awful however come next month it is all being changed so no longer a problem. Some of the work is repetitive and dull.

Pros

Pays well (starting from £8.25/hour) Receive bonuses annually (upto 20% of your annual pay!) Learn potential new skills Company recognized for providing first class customer service

Cons

Management Issues, although we are meant to treated as "equal" partners, they often look down to you and show no respect to other Partners. Paperwork signing is a LONG process, and often daily tasks like date checking and cleaning are not done or signed off. Management then scrutinize Partners for not doing such task and give a disciplinary. Management do not show appreciation of your hard work and often goes amiss. After a while, you really do get put off working there. Staff shortages, we often had to work with minimal staff, and not many required task are done and its usually difficult for us to complete. But like in my Pros section, it is financially supportive part-time job on the side!

Pros

Great discount at JL 25% and 15% waitrose discount Holiday homes, yachts and discounts schemes in retailers Final salary non contributory pension scheme which is unheard of these days 6months paid leave after 25years service Holiday entitlement rises by 0.5 days each year.

Cons

Long hours standard 39hour week which at management/ Team Leader level turns into 50 hours very easily due to unrealistic expectations, (9hour days plus unpaid 1 hour lunch) Typical shift 6:00-17:00 No room for progression due to job sharing and saturated top heavy management structure Expectations are extremely high due to partner ethos however, low pay and co-owner when it suits is more the storey sadly. Losing touch with principle 1 Salads in branch roles upto SM/ASM/TL/NMP are way below industry average and not reflective of role responsibilities and expectations Some of the BM's are awful, literally sit in there office and ignore partners
