Pros

Generally pleasant, respectful colleagues and managers. Fairly nice surroundings. Undemanding work. Not put under as much pressure as some of their rivals (i.e. Tesco). Was offered a permanent job (but turned it down),

Cons

Newcomers are treated the worst and don't get the respect or benefits of permanent staff. Constantly asked to do overtime and often coerced into doing it. Very passive-agressive working environment. Incompetent managers. Rudest customers I've encountered. Incredibly boring, menial work. Was misled on ins and outs of job roll. Insufficient breaks.

Pros

The discount is very good, the staff are all lovely. The company sources food ethically and is honest about its practices

Cons

Waitrose is battling to survive in the retail food market and isn't as pleasant to work for as it is perceived. Very hard work and understaffed, customers are more challenging and 'entitled' than you'd expect from a supermarket.

Pros

The pay is okay and benefits are really good, discount in waitrose is 15% and john lewis is 35% and other discounts with the card. Usually, long running staff that have been there forever, which means they know the company well and can comfort you on their own knowledge to progress.

Cons

Once the budget is spent for the year the company get last with enrolling new staff or cant afford new staff to help even if there isn't enough to cover a shift. There is a lot of 16-18 year olds trying to run the shop. Needs more supervisors than one especially if something is to go wrong, customers are waiting to have authorisation of alcohol with staff being so young. Modern Waitrose isn't working you will only stay in your section unless you are bored.
