Not a good situation

Pros

We have fallen so low that there isn't much further we can go. The people, for the most part, are still very good to work with.

Cons

Dropping market share, layoff, outsourcing, offshoring, continued cost cutting every quarter, no 401k match, forced vacation useage, no bonuses paid last year, no bonuses forecasted for this year, poor quality products, no training or career development, ridiculous bureaucracy, no empowerment for employees, no risk taking but a lot of blaming, cluessless and incompetent senior management, and on and on . . .

Pros

The work is interesting, due to complexity of integrations with other products and software development groups around the world. The environment is pleasantly casual, people are friendly, the work hours are reasonable.

Cons

The company is now a joint venture with the Gores group and lost it's research and engineering edge. It had been cutting costs for the last few years.
