Pros

- Great social scene: everyone is fresh out of university so lots of people similar in age, lots of post work drinks, team socials etc - Broad exposure to PE/ market trends through projects or general conversations with industry experts - opportunity to be promoted quickly if targets met/ exceeded - Good graduate starting wage - The people I’ve met at TB are fantastic and made some great friends and connections. Lots of people who have left have gone on to do interesting jobs so has helped build a great professional network - a good stepping stone into other financial services careers

Cons

Where do I even start…. Lots of this will be repeated from previous reviews (if you can find them buried in all the convenient positive ones) which speaks volumes to their overall attitude of profit over people. - extremely repetitive: not the job for you if you hate cold calling. Spamming industry professionals through WhatsApp etc becomes soul destroying. - Heavily target driven: monthly targets which go up with tenure but also change constantly. Whilst the the goal post for ‘good performance’ can be achieved through working hard, there are no adjustments made for business flow, account performance or the economic climate. In my time there the bonus/ target structure changed 5 times. Hitting your target is heavily influenced by what account your on rather than how hard you work and adapt. This leads to high levels of stress amongst many employees. - Vast pay disparity: following on from the point above, some associates are earning more bonus from simply being on better accounts than others who often have to work twice as hard for much less reward. - aggressive PIP culture where half of the connections department are on PIPs for not hitting targets consecutively. Leads to poor mental health, burn out and a hostile working environment. - high staff turn over: people leave constantly leaving teams stretched. Also means people are promoted into managerial positions simply because there’s no one else… - toxic culture: often feels like you’re still at university. Absolutely no regard for mental health or support for colleagues who are burnt out. Gossip and lies spread around the office creates an unprofessional environment and complaints of misconduct are not taken seriously. Lack of proper management training. Everyone hates working there and plans on leaving at some point which creates a negative culture. - work life balance: you’re working from 7:00 AM to 11:30 PM at night. Having to respond to emails at all hours and under 25 mins always. This is an expert network industry problem however, not replying to an email means losing out to competitors. That being said, more staff and better mental health support could be given? - lack of ‘hard skill’ development opportunities

Pros

Los Angeles - Target system so you'll be able to get a bonus every month which close to a grand a month - A lot of work so easy to become experienced with a client-facing role quickly -Coworkers are amazing!!!! The people here are awesome and you will make friends for life 100%! You bond more because of how much the job is trash

Cons

-From associate to project manager there is no salary raise, but you will have 2x the amount of work to do. They raise it after 1 year, but we are still MASSIVELY underpaid compared to what our competitors make -You will not be valued by upper management (AVP in Los Angeles) as she is never satisfied with the work you've completed -You have a monthly points target that if you don't hit they may put you on a PIP (Performance Improvement Program); The account you are overseeing could be breaking quarterly budgets and they still might consider firing you since they play massive favorites -AVP plays favorites; Purposefully gave a failing account to a project manager to get them fired, but they turned the account around and still does not give they any credit, put 2 people in a program to become manager, and hired someone else who was her favorite and not ready for the job, and doesn't interact with anyone (Cuts you off constantly when speaking to her and micromanages projects she can't help with) -They continue to cut different perks that include lowering budgets for our social events once a month, company-provided lunches, etc. -Clients that you work for can say anything/everything without consequence and you have to take it (AVP and managers will not advocate for you and will step in and kiss up to them) because that's how we make money -Training and Development they are currently revamping, but they throw you to the wolves after your week of initial training -Communication: Horrible and communicate important messages over Slack -Incentives: They have this Wednesday power hour where you can get Third Bridge Points if you onboard people; They're stupid and the winner usually gets a couple of dollars and you are scolded even if for the remaining 8 hours there. Makes no sense -Schedule: 9am-6pm Monday-Thursday and 8am-5pm on Friday; 5-6pm almost no productivity comes from that last hour -You don't have to work after hours, but it is STRONGLY hinted that you need to work after hours, so the work-life balance is not very good (Sometimes you're forced to work late in order to just hit target) -Lied about a benefit; I can't get into the specifics, but they shad a program where they said they would help with someones career and once that person hit all the targets they said that program never existed (They announced this to the entirety of project managers at Third Bridge, but they said they never said that) -High high high turnover rate; They will say "The college age group usually has a high turnover rate", but they have lost so many great talents because of the AVP in Los Angeles; They will continue to lose people but once again they don't care -Management does not care AT ALL, Avoid this job and please find something better

Thanks for taking the time to tell us about your experience. Feedback like this is really helpful so we can examine our practices and consider how they are received by our team. We'd be interested in speaking with you further, so if you're open to that, please consider reaching out at team@thirdbridge.com. Our LA office is one of our smaller offices but serves a critical role in ensuring we can maintain strong relationships with our West Coast clients -- some of whom are our biggest accounts and highest priority growth areas. Having leadership that supports your growth and challenges you is instrumental in driving success which is why we invest a lot of time and coaching into our managers and (A)VPs. Part of their role in leading a team or an office is to be clear about expectations and performance and fair in how they manage their teams and clients. Our values of All Rising Together and Our People Growing go hand in hand to ensure we're not only developing a team that can deliver excellent work but also one that has a clear view of their career trajectory and easy means of providing feedback for their colleagues. We understand that the way we work may not be for everyone, but we find that switching up our days with small competitions, socials, and other opportunities to work differently with one another leads us to be more creative, collaborative and open. Again, thanks for taking the time. We would love to talk more about your experience if you reach us at team@thirdbridge.com.

Pros

- You get to manage people within the first 4-9 months in the role - You are given the responsibility of a direct report (pegged associate) from a year into the role

Cons

- The environment feels like it's straight out of a 2000s american highschool movie. Everyone is "in a relationship" with everyone, there's gossip everywhere, etc. It's like working with children, but worse - Management is horrible. They'll be so nice to you, until you're no longer useful (when you move department, your performance slows, etc) or until they're stressed - The work ours are HORRIBLE. It's not a 9-6, it's a 7:30 until whenever the client stops emailing you. If they email at 11PM, you're expected to reply and sort their requests out - The clients, and experts, who you'll be constantly in contact with can be mean and mouthy and you'll just have to take it and suck it up - You don't know what stress is until you've worked in connections at Third Bridge. EVERY.SINGLE.MINUTE of your day is mapped out and filled up. Literally, every single minute. You'll be working on one thing and 5 different people will be messaging you left and right and chasing you for an update about what you've done so far on their projects. That's on top of the clients messaging you and chasing you at ungodly hours of the morning and night There are so many more cons, but i'm getting riled up just thinking about them
