Pros

Decent place to get professional experience Feels cool to be around young people your age but this is a double edged sword because it affects management It is clique-y and you better hope you are on the ins and not the outs

CONSULTING VERTICAL (in connections) IS TOXIC!!!also hear every other vertical of the biz sucks, including the forum side -Beware of the oversized egos and racist practices that are within these walls -This place is modern day S L A V E R Y and u get sucked in before you know it. Dont even think about it if you have a commute beyond 30 minutes. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE HOURS ARE 9-6pm (if your team is 1 if the few to typically leave on time) so DO NOT LET THE SALARY and numbers on the offer letter fool u. U will start to realize SOMEONE ELSE AT A DIFF COMPANY “WORKING LATE” (i.e., works regular 9-5, works late til 6pm) is your EVERYDAY WORK HOURS and people are constantly working late to meet the insane targets that increase every month. -There are TOO MANY managers and people in leadership (VPs) that do not deserve to be in their promotions. They are also very insecure in their roles and manage poorly because of it. Leadership has no brain and gets by from riding others coattails and rewarding favoritism in order to have more puppets. -Be advised that your contributions are not always recognized if you are a person of color (compared to others on your team). This does not mean Hispanic in this case, because many tend to be the right skin color - if you are “white passing,” you will be just fine. If not, I am sorry to tell you nobody in management is a darker skin tone. They will skip over your achievements. They will want to pick your brain after promoting others and not rewarding you. Dont fall for it. Bias is all the way up to leadership against people who have darker skin. I speak from experience, as well as hearing the stories on other teams, and from perspective of ny white peers who have witnessed it. There is too much underhanded discrimination that is disguised as concern… Again, if you want work life balance ……… think again. Lets just say the company was faced with an overtime lawsuit for very valid reasons. If you want to be overworked in due time, believe me, you have found the right place. I came from a team where they were popping adderrals like candy to survive. It will feel like cramming for college again. Your anxiety and blood pressure will rise too often. You will be measured on factors outside your control. Things will seem good, and then they will push you too far, because “its just the nature of the business.” You will work on weekends. You will be slaved when you’re supposed to be off. The farther you go, the less rewarding it will feel. The work itself is redundant. Dont be like me and get overlooked every now and again. Dont get stuck here for more than a year and a half to two years. Otherwise you will find yourself suddenly looking to leave desperately, but searching in a job market that does not value your advancements at this company, simply because you do not gain typical exposure to business tools and work styles that are the industry standard for project management (if you get promoted) and nobody currently there is going to ever tell you this because theyre trapped themselves tryin to pretend its all good Its giving “Get Out” (the movie) My advice if u take a job here: it will suck to know you do a lot in this role but always think about how you can convey your significance during interviews with companies outside your field of work starting from day 1 Trust the vibes and take nothing lightly. If you get the slightest inclination that there is tension with your manager, you are indeed done Oh and HR….? Thats just a facade that was set up to be allowed to operate… more puppets

Additionally, we promote people when they are ready, provide them with the tools they need to architect their future and we strive to continually look for ways to create inclusivity and opportunities in all parts of our organisation. In regards to working hours, a number of our roles are target-based which means it can be a competitive and driven environment too, but our bonus structure and benefits reward this. We do have a high performance culture and, while some roles may need to work outside of standard office hours (9am-6pm) to support our clients on occasions, we know that our compensation and benefits offering is competitive and employee focused and our employment practices adhere to local requirements. DO NOT WORK FOR THIRD BRIDGE! It is a glorified call centre with no level of intellect required! A run down of what you’ll be doing each day: 1) meeting in the morning where you’re assigned projects. The projects involve you either screening specialists on the existing TB database or custom RECRUITING (key word here is recruiting) people on LinkedIn (C-execs etc) who can offer your client some sort of knowledge/expertise 2) you will then spend your time until lunch doing takes a trained monkey could perform... opening up LinkedIn and capturing profiles to add onto the database. You will then have to cold-call them and sell the TB product- oh god it’s awfully dull! 3) you will then have a meeting after lunch where you discuss any updates on your projects. Another chore for get through... 4) for the rest of the day, you will continue screening specialists- calling them to assess their level of knowledge on the clients issue, then writing up a ‘relevant experience’ on the database to send to the client ...And that’s it! No skills learned at all. Nothing to help advance you on in your career. Absolutely nothing. TB tend recruits people from top-tier universities - I simply cannot see why? These monotonous tasks can be done by anyone with half a brain cell. If you want to be micro-managed, learn nothing , and spend your days doing mine-numbingly boring tasks then Third Bridge is the place to work. Cross that metaphorical bridge to NOWHERE! Graduates or those seeking employment please apply elsewhere, even if the salary is lower. You will at least gain valuable and transferable skills! DO NOT WORK HERE

- Young culture, mostly fresh out of college grads so it can be easy to make friends and socialize

Cons

- Underpaid, overworked - No work life balance. You have to answer client emails and requests at all hours - No career path or acquiring of technical skills. If you can copy and paste on a computer and make phone calls then you'll be great at this job. You really learn nothing else that'll give you a strong advantage or skillset for future jobs. - High turnover. 90% of people leave after 1-2 years (and for good reason too, please read all of these cons) Recently people across all levels have left every single week, and not enough people are getting hired. Those of us still stuck here are left to pick up extra work - Job is misleading. You are a glorified secretary getting calls on the calendar and handling reschedules and cancellations. You are not doing any market research. The clients give you the exact criteria (company, title, etc.) that experts need to fall under and could not care less about interacting with you. You are treated as less than a speck of dirt since they are also working with other expert networks and just looking to schedule a call if convenient for them - Inexperienced management. This is most managers' first job out of college so they don't know how to actually manage people. They just know how to blame you and put pressure on you if you don't hit your targets - Have to borderline harass experts to get on the phone with our clients. If someone is unavailable or disinterested, you are told to keep chasing when they clearly want to be left alone. You're also told to pay them the cheapest rate possible. The "specialist experience" is non-existent. Everything done here is to just please clients even though our business wouldn't exist without our specialists and experts - Favoritism and gossip. Since everyone here is so young, they all talk behind each other's backs and nothing can be kept confidential. Promotions, etc. will be given out if you are liked. - Unrealistic expectations. Everything is always "urgent" and you are expected to work 110% every month because every month is "crazy." If you don't hit your targets, you are told to work later and do more even though hitting performance goals is not a direct result of effort. That's 100% determined by clients and they can ghost on a project at any second so all of your work is wasted - Rudeness. Most people are just plain rude and disrespectful. All interactions are transactional and you can get away with being a jerk as long as you perform well. - Management doesn't listen nor care. Anytime you flag any issues with a manager or upper management, they'll either say it's been an ongoing issue that they don't have control over, or basically deny that anything's wrong. It's wild how blind and ignorant they are to how people actually feel about this company - No clear metrics on getting promoted. Requirements keep changing, along with the bonus structure (which is a joke). By the way, we were asked to write positive Glassdoor reviews in a Town Hall to boost up Third Bridge's ratings.
