Pros

Fast paced, unbelievable customer service experience, not difficult to learn, 1 free foot long sandwich when you work, is a great experience for high schoolers

Cons

It’s fast food, you can get pretty hot and sweaty during the day, customer arrivals can vary sporadically, little pay which is understandable

Not bad for a part time job

Pros

Free food! Flexible shifts. Can be fun if you get on with your colleagues, especially in a smaller store.

Cons

It's a decent job if you're working part time, but I worked full time over some holidays and it wasn't great. You don't really get a proper break because the line of customers is never-ending and they have to be your priority. Like a lot of customer service jobs, you're on your feet for hours, and it's painful! Customers are incredibly rude and most of my colleagues didn't speak fluent English so they'd always send the angry customers over to me. Customers have a tendency to try and fight you over the price of their food, insisting it comes under a deal when it doesn't, and they'll yell at the person on the till and hold up the whole line. Even though your job title is 'Sandwich Artist' you're expected to do everything from counting cash to cleaning the toilets which means the work doesn't really end. Pay is minimum wage. Experiences will vary massively depending on the management. The first manager I worked for was a lot more lenient with shifts than the second guy who often made me work daily 8/9 hour shifts with very few days off and was always asking me to stay late.
