Pros

If you love being stressed out all the time, working 16 hours a day to make impossible deadlines, being micromanaged and in constant fear of being laid off this is the place for you

Cons

To many to list but the two biggest are the constant dishonesty from leadership coupled with their unbelievable incompetence. I have never in my professional life seen anything like this. What happened at Subway is sad actually. Fred spent decades building something and in less than 8 months the new leadership has completely destroyed it. It may be the owners intention to sell in the end but that brand is incredibly damaged. And yes all the posts and news stories you hear about the franchisees complaining are true: Leadership does not care about them at all and they make that clear with most of the decisions they make. Most amazing thing is that they are still posting open positions. No one in their right mind should work their, the pay is below average, culture is toxic and there is zero promise you won’t be laid off tomorrow.

Pros

Recognized brand name. That is all.

Cons

Too many cons to count so I’ll name a few that stand out. New CEO brought in to clean house has done just that courtesy of 3 RIFs in the past 6 months. He’s bringing in his old BK cronies one by one and getting rid of old mgmt. Old or new, doesn’t matter, the brand is broken beyond repair and the sr execs running the show don’t have a clue on how to fix. Let’s bring back $5 ft long even though franchisees don’t make money off it. Less than 2 weeks later and millions spent on ads, they’ve canned the promo because it was a total failure. So aside from not listening to franchisees, the place is run by dishonest execs, one of whom told me my job was safe from cuts (and even gave me a larger work space if you can believe that) only to then call me and tell me my position was eliminated. Also, new chief insights officer has been there since Feb and has zero achievements to show of. But I’m sure he’s making nice bank. The politics are a whole other story. So I’ll wrap up by saying that unlike some companies where HR sometimes reads and responds to these types of posts, I don’t imagine I’ll get a reply because the person responsible for reason these has probably already been let go too. Good luck and hope Chidsey finds a good buyer to clean the rest of the broken house.

Pros

work/life balance. comfortable place to work if you are not looking to develop and are complacent with where you are in life. Free items throughout the year Thanksgiving: turkey, Fall: Apples, Summer: Watermelon

Cons

old and fat workforce which increases insurance cost for all employees 1000 - handicaps parking spaces (aren't we supposed to be an "eat fresh" brand? Healthy? TERRIBLE benefits (dismal) TERRIBLE pay (well below industry standards - which accounts for the most of the under performing employees) - you pay for what you get uneducated leadership - secretaries promoted to director levels no experience or diversity among leadership/managers/director - long standing employees that are only aware of the "Sub"way and have no perspective of other ways of doing things out side the box too cheap to invest in technology
