Pros

Good work/life balance - 8:30-5:00 Nice people Big marketing budgets Free lunch Easy commute, if you live near Milford. Job security - private company, no layoffs. Regardless of level, all employees get a bonus, but it is the same for all employees.

Cons

Small minded management Founder intricately involved in the smallest decisions; micromanager People stay for 20-30 years, and are control freaks over the "rules" they are allowed to manage. Do not have vision for other ways of doing things Extremely frugal, to the point of making employee's lives uncomfortable Expense policy is unreasonable (dinner allowance is $26), so if you travel, it will cost you money Very high health insurance costs to employees Only 6 holidays a year (day after thanksgiving is not a holiday) Meetings/conventions are on weekends and you don't get comp days Employees are doers, not thinkers Promotions don't happen Pay scale is low Nepotism is prevalent Bonus goals are often too aggressive. No personal component, only company based. For higher level employees, this means it is not competitive with the market. For lower level employees, it's good.

Horrible place to work

Pros

Free breakfast & lunch; paid time off

Cons

Horrible place to work. Employees are supervised like children in middle school. There are too many layers or management; supervisors report to supervisors, who report to managers, who report to more managers, and so on. The legal department is full of immature managers who insult employees and roll their eyes. To make matter worst the pay is low. Legal assistants can expect to start off around $35k; Paralegals $40k; Attorneys $65-70K. HR is a joke. They allow managers to get away everything, no repercussions. HR has fired employees with cancer when their FMLA ran out.
