Pros

Some really interesting clients and projects. Mostly reasonable hours. Some great people (although this is very hit-or-miss). Slightly better promotion potential than some other Big 4 strategy consulting jobs.

Cons

Too many people lacking core consulting skills, including managers and directors. Recruitment prioritizes paper credentials over diverse experience, meaning that most staff are cookie cutter MBAs. Virtually zero opportunities for meaningful upward feedback. Awful technology. Offensively terrible hiring and firing practices (bonus eligibility, severance, etc.).
