Pros

Good pay, depending on how desperate the hiring manager is. Easy to transfer between teams/functions, again, depending on how your line manager view of career advancement/growth.

Cons

Extremely bureaucratic, too much politic. You can only climb up the ladder by boot-licking and sweet-talking. Good pay and grade to external hiring rather than offering to hardworking existing employees. Non-stop restructuring since Q4 last year and it is still on-going. Higher management can't seem to make up their mind.

Pros

It is a great institution, new management is going to have a great impact. This bank will be in the top soon. Great people.

Cons

It is great place to work, perhaps the integration between SCB and all WS leavers from Lehman created a toxic environment.

Bank Full of Clowns

Pros

Average employee here is sub-par and definitely not up to snuff compared to bulge bracket bankers, which means you can work at 30% capacity if you are well trained.

Cons

Senior managers do not keep their word or care about their team. Mid-level managers too scared to speak up for their juniors. Juniors left to die. Incompetent managers keep hiring and promoting incompetent junior bankers and let them run the show. Well trained bankers forced to pick up slack from said clown bankers. Rampant favoritism. Bank from hell. Avoid at all costs. Not a place to have a career, unless you don't have any self-respect.
