Pros

Never been a good bank in the last 10 years because shareholders too fragmented, senior mgmt kept changing, ousted by different camp every few years.

Cons

Highly paid ex Citibankers, Europeans and Indians replaced Singaporeans, old timers in the Bank, people who built the bank up in the past. The newcomers brought along people from their same background not by merits, but to shore up political connections. People who do work on the ground are not rewarded, while people who focused on managing their bosses get promoted. In the end, the good people left. Nobody is left to work. The bank is filled with highly paid sycophants.

Pros

Lots of opportunities to learn if willing to put in extra effort. Opportunities to work with teams among the region if given chance to involve in Group project. Global job relocation opportunities. Unlimited medical claim for both employee and dependants. 30 days annual leave.

Cons

Bad work culture as people unable to work and resolve issues as a team and not willing to take up responsibilities. Constant change in organisation structure. Have to adapt to fast changing in reporting manager and work relationships. Employment of management staffs are contract based. To show that they are competent and performing, lots of new products and campaigns are launched within unrealistic timelines. It stresses out almost every working level staffs and causes high turnover rate. Legacy issues popped up everywhere. Therefore requires lots of patience to get things right. The bank is not willing to invest in system enhancement and lots of processes involved to enhancement. Hence, businesses has to give up to change request and proceed with manual handling instead of automation. Loyalty/long service is not appreciate. Prefer to hiring new employees for higher position over growing existing employees.
