Pros

You get a paycheck. You get a meal on a full shift

Cons

Rude arrogant incompetent management. Few paid Holidays. Managers make up whatever rules they like. Understaffed everywhere with expectations to do the work of TWO people AND get it done or be Written Up. Long yearly Lay offs for most employees

Pros

It is a national company with a very good structure and job security. They value diversity and inclusion...they make it a major priority.

Cons

They refuse to give you additional work to utilize your skill set. When you have a wide variety of skills, the HR department tells you that since you came in as a catering manager that is all you can do. They're are so very few things to do outside of your basic job function. Other companies I worked for they would allow you to be district food and labor champions, handle district auditing, design buildings and kitchens. Also, by far the worst annual pay increases I have ever had since I started as a hourly student worker 15 years ago. District managers insult and belittle management.

Thank you for taking the time to share a review. I wanted to address your comments about advancement. I'm sorry to hear about the situation you've described here, as Sodexo values its employees and prides itself on providing career advancement opportunities. In fact, many of our executives today started in entry-level roles with the company, so you are not limited by your former positions. By investing in your own continued learning and development, you too can be successful in achieving your career aspirations. I recommend reaching out to your supervisor to develop a career strategy and development plan to ensure you are ready when the position you desire becomes available. I'm not sure why the HR department would give you the advice you've mentioned, so please reach out to your local HR Director to discuss competencies and advancement. You can also head over to LinkedIn and post a message for our recruitment team in the Sodexo USA Careers group.
