Not a real consulting firm

Pros

- As for all consulting firms you will have some talented and hard working people across all levels - Office is literally on wall street so you can flex to your distance relatives from Alabama that you made it - Won't get rid of you for low chargeability compared to the big 4, as long as you are visible to leadership - Some senior leaders are accessible, but that is the minority - Free lunch and drinks once a week - Good opportunities to brush up on your French, oui

Cons

- This is primarily a staff aug organization with limited consulting engagements - No real culture or identity, people have little pride from working here despite the recent investment - Partners and MDs get axed or relocated frequently without communication, which impacts employee morale and makes you feel extremely dispensable - The levels here do not align to broader industry levels. The associate manager level is out of place, and some competent people get stuck there for years before being promoted to manager. A MD here is basically a SM at most other shops - Manager level resources have a ridiculous managed revenue target, and projects that provides the opportunities to hit the managed targets are far and few in between. This is not a realistic expectation and will push competent people out - New joiners get tossed on the bench without proper guidance and just float around in office, impacting their first impression of the firm

Pros

Opportunity to work at different financial institutions

Cons

Awful management. Leadership doesn’t care about employees at all. Very low pay, no bonus, no overtime compensation. Not to expect a lot from SIA. Managers/partners don’t have a sense of time(or they don’t care) Sia in general I believe is a good company but just Toronto office is a mess. Other offices might be a better choice but not Toronto office for sure.

Pros

Depending on who you work with, some of the connections made are amazing

Cons

- Too much of a focus on acquisitions than investment into resources - Communication is very lacking. Sometimes management isn't informed when their resources are cut unexpectedly - Feedback doesn't matched up with what is communicated in reviews
