French company goes ''global''

Pros

Good entrepreneurial feeling. Strong team spirit at Consultant level.

Cons

Senior Management is clueless about what it is to create and implement a strategy. They have no vision and no understanding of the market trends and are just satisfied with being not more than a resourcing firm. Success of consultants will mainly depend on their background (upper class and expensive schools) and personal affinities with top management. Talent and hard work won't help you too much in this organisation. Also, the company is investing a lot in trying to become global but is failing so far: going global means embracing differences, not copy-pasting abroad the French out-of-date way of working.

Pros

2 years ago the concept of the IP farm and actually upholding sia values was a fantastic environment to be in. Unfortunately that has fizzled out and replaced with inept upper management

Cons

Toxic upper management, trickle down effect of negativity across the board because consultants are not compensated/assessed fairly based on skill and delivery. I’d advise high performing consultants to steer clear from this firm as they will surely chip away at your drive to perform and mentally manipulate you. Bonuses are abysmal, so are frequency of raises; all the while the ceo performs new acquisitions and partners line their pockets as the actual workers struggle to make ends meet.

Pros

Getting a paycheck is better than the alternative

Cons

Sia prioritizes the firm instead of the individual. Significant amount of money spent on annual "seminars" instead of passing that through to employees. Significant cost outlay for a client event which showcased a "music video" with the CEO dressed in a stormtrooper costume - this was the first interaction most of New York clients in attendance had with Sia. North American seminar was cancelled due to Coronavirus (good decision) but only after they pushed the decision to cancel (or not) down to the employees via email survey. For a firm that has grown solely through acquisition, they have no idea how to perform a smooth integration with the businesses they acquire. Payroll, benefits, 401k, tax withholding - all have had issues being implemented for firms that they have acquired in the past year or two. Their business model prioritizes business development over delivery. They display a distinct lack of commitment to long standing business relationships, expecting their delivery resources to commit significant time investment on activities other than delivering for their clients. Lack of diversity at the management / partner level. I would not recommend this firm to others.
