Pros

They focus on continuing education to help drive passion for tips and tricks and the products. In some ways I learned more about skincare ingredients at Sephora than at esthetician school. They give a lot of gratis, so you always have tons of free product to experiment with. As a fulltime employee, they do offer benefits.

Cons

Very high expectations and sales goals for noncompetitive hourly rate and no commission. Lots of pressure and a very catty work environment with an exhausting focus on personal appearance.

Pros

Lots of education being pushed through First dibs on new products First to know about new products Employee discount

Cons

If you truly want to work full time you have to sell hard. Otherwise, you won't get the hours you want. If you know what you're talking about, it's pretty easy. But during down time I found myself just telling people to buy things because I wanted to make my goal and keep my hours. It doesn't feel honest and bothered me a lot. If you are good at what you do, expect to move up pretty quickly but don't expect a pay rise. It's just your workload that gets bigger, not your check. I give it 3 stars for compensation only because of the benefits. They are pretty good. The discount is huge and if you're willing to learn, this is the place to start.

Pros

If you really love make up this is a great place to learn about brands. The brands ambassadors come in and train. The gratis is amazing. And you’ll meet great people.

Cons

The management in my store was awful. They were not qualified to manage people. The drama within the management team caused us to lose a lot of good people including our store director. Any issue you have takes a minimum of one month to even be addressed. They need a total rehaul of management in that store. I couldn’t take it anymore so I left.
