Pros

Great pay, great benefits. Standard work week is officially 35/hrs a week, but most sucessful salaried employees work more. Opportunities to shine are there if you are willing to be proactive and take a risk.

Cons

There are some hidden politics and a fair amount of cronyism among those who have been there a while. SAS is still a young company, now grown to a large company, but some of the management and business systems have not grown along with the company.

Pros

First class orgnization in many ways, as others have mentioned SAS in Cary provides excellent benefits, in terms of helping to support a work life balance. Their are oportunities to move across the organization, which for those in sales often proves difficult at times. SAS has had long term relationship with large number of fortune 500 companies

Cons

As somone new to the company, I was shocked at how conservative the organization is in terms of lauching new products. It is hard to beleive that this is a technology driven compnay at times. If someone is looking for a dynamic innovative company that can move quickly, this might not be a good fit.

Pros

Benefits are great in Cary, and very good elsewhere. The work ethic is dismal, so if you want to coast you will fit right in.

Cons

Very 1980s.. old technology, people who have been at their jobs for 25 years and doing it the same way. Not a clue on the general marketspace and the capabilities of the competition. Ideas and products internally are touted as 'leading edge', but the competition had them 5 years ago. New ideas are stiffled and people are scared of change. Very buddy centric. If you are a rep and don't sell, but go the the same church as your manager you can stay forever. If you are remote those rules do not apply.
