I tried to work in similar positions at Appen and Telus, but RWS is finally a company that didn't let me down. They require you to fill out language and machine learning tests to complete your profile, and e-mail you all the relevant projects you can partake in. You can set your own prices when creating your profile. No minimum workload, they operate on a first come, first served method.

Cons

Workflow is irregular and unpredictable, but this is kind of a given with this type of job.

As this is one of the biggest localization companies in the world, they have quite nice environment to learn about the job and the industry.

Cons

No bonus to the teams other than Sales.

Great work life balance, empathetic and strategic management/leadership team, and the best team spirit I have seen across multiple functions.

Cons

Too many legacy systems & processes although there is a huge transformation program underway to address this.
