Pros

Well known company with great benefits

Cons

Terrible Communication and Training. No one seems to know basic company Management and Leadership teams. Training is lacking if non existent in all departments and levels. Their is a blatant disregard for employees and their safety. I was shocked many times by seeing chemicals in areas that pose a safety threat to myself and others. (Not in designated handling areas. Off the line). Their is a Major lack of respect for others. This company isn’t about its employees at all! Tasks, skills, and expertise of the job are disregarded and management and HR could care less. On multiple occasions I was asked to do a job outside my department and to disregard the priorities of my own, then was reprimanded for not staying in my department and doing my assigned job. I asked multiple times for specific information pertaining to my job and was told to go find it or figure it out for myself. When I asked where I could find that information I was told “I don’t know, go ask the department lead.” Who is the lead? “I don’t know, figure it out” was the response I was given . I asked HR for some resources to help me with acquiring a list of department leads and management to further assist in my job. I was given nothing. But once again told to “figure it out”. Does anyone know who works here or what’s going on? Everyone seems to have a different idea of what should be and needs to be done. Nothing runs cohesively at this particular site.

We appreciate that you've gathered some thoughts on your experience as an employee with us. Definitely, it's the case that we work in a fast paced environment, but I can see job security is important to any employee. We do value our talent, so any reorganization is never thought of lightly, and if it's a possibility we'll always do our best to train our talented people for other positions, in order to keep the experience and knowledge close to us. I hope this feeling of uneasiness will get better in time.

Pros

Benefits are in line with top 10% of the industry

Cons

> A company with 100+ years legacy does not have standard tools/processes yet. You only spend time to reconcile data from one system to another & one manager's perspective to another's. > Attempts to standardize processes & tools lacks conviction & alignment with business priorities, which in itself is very dynamic as far as Philips is concerned. > Management shoves the improvement plans down the throats of the employee's. Seeking clarity gets their wrath. > No holistic employee development plan. > Change implementation is the worst. > Leaders at mid managerial level are not empowered to deliver on the objective they are given. > All of this contribute to a very toxic culture.

Hi there, thank you for sharing your honest thoughts on the time you've worked for our company. We regret to hear that there are many things that you think need to be changed within your former department in Madras, but we highly appreciate it that you've decided to not keep these to yourself. Both as manufacturer and employer we're continuously striving for improvement and we'll definitely make sure to write these down. We hope that you've already found or will soon find a position that is completely to your liking. All the best in your professional career!
