Pros

Collegial Environment: The friendly atmosphere has consistently been a highlight. Generous Health Plan: Comprehensive, though costly. Work from Home Flexibility: Convenient but with restrictions.

Cons

Bureaucratic Structure: A significant impediment to creativity and efficiency. Compensation and Benefits: Uncompetitive pay, non-existent bonuses, and failure to match inflation. Flexible Vacation - A Misnomer: Less accommodating than it appears. Restrictions on Remote Work: Diminished flexibility due to rigid scheduling. Company Performance and Layoffs: As of 2023, Philips Healthcare has been struggling, resulting in layoffs. The senior leadership's handling of these layoffs has been uncompassionate. Overbearing DEI Program: The implementation of Philips' DEI program has been perceived as overbearing.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It's clear that your Philips experience overall has not been positive. We regret to hear that the compensation and benefits provided aren't what you had hoped for, that you're missing a certain level of sympathy from senior management and that you'd like to see changes made when it comes to the implementation of DEI. We're constantly striving for improvement, not only as manufacturer but also as employer. Our management is also active here on Glassdoor and is closely monitoring all reviews: your points of advice are welcome and will be noted. Thank you again for looking back at the 2+ years you've been working for Philips in Alpharetta. Your experience is important to us. We wish you all the best moving forward.

Philips is a joke

Pros

They gave a toothbrush when they bought our company out. That’s it from a company aspect You’re so busy being drug through the mud, your coworkers become family since we’re all suffering together.

Cons

Philips bought our company a few years ago to help pull them out of their financial issues from their own product. We were promised raises, bonuses, etc. haven’t seen a single bonus, just did our yearly merit increase and our department couldn’t even get close to a 3% raise, they’re trying to add the Philips processes (which make no sense and is doubling our workload), last week we had a work from home incentive added based on the amount of overtime you work and this week they took 3/5ths of the overtime possibilities away from us, the best people in our department keep quitting and so far no one has been replaced so people are getting extra work for no extra pay now also. Work life balance is great since there is no overtime opportunities anymore, but just means you have to get a second job. I will say they try with culture and diversity.

Pros

Benefits (not the best) Company car if you meet their mileage (1000 business miles a month) 401K I work for a great team

Cons

Benefits aren't that great - Medical switched us from a PPO to an EPO, yet didn't lower our costs. Low morale No raises in years, besides your yearly raise (1-5%) if you get one, even if your team is awesome, they will still force someone in the no raise zone. They don't keep up with cost of living. They bring in new hires with zero experience making as much as our seasoned FSEs who have been there for over 10 years. Lack of moving around within Philips - internal jobs are already filled before they post them. They just post them for the formalities. Job promises are also no good, I personally have been told I had two management jobs, both of which fell through. As a FSE, you have NO JOB LIFE BALANCE. Large territories, we have 1 FSE for 3-4 states. ServiceMax is horrible for our Service Ticket system, and they keep making it worse with every update. For a "Tech Company" that works in hospitals, they do offer low pay. There is no employee retention, we have multiple people leave right after we hire them, as the job is difficult and travel is over 90%. They have outsourced a lot of jobs to India, and they don't work the same hours as the US, so expect delays with IT and getting things resolved. Company provided equipment is getting worse, again a Tech Company, and they provide worthless Laptops, and Cell Phones (however, they do offer BYOD, if you want to spend your own money). Factories that were based in the US are now outsourced, all equipment comes from overseas, causing delays getting equipment, and more paperwork to be completed when the FSE performs installations. LOTS of micromanagement from other management teams, people that don't even directly deal with your team will question everything. Including, parts used, your FSEs time and how they spent their day (being home waiting for a call is non productive and goes against you), your work orders you have opened, finance. Employees are eligible for "reward points" for jobs well done, but they are hard to come by as anything you do is already expected.

Thank you for sharing this level of detail – it is helpful to hear and understand your situation. It’s clear that this Philips experience was not positive. We’re always interested in providing our people with a rewarding career experience and understand understand that our people have a life outside work too, so it's unfortunate this wasn't the case for you. We would recommend scheduling a meeting with your HR representative or manager in order to discuss some points of improvement. Philips Management Team is also active on this platform, so your feedback will be taken into consideration for improving our ways of working. We always welcome honest feedback.
