Pros

you move up fast if you're the type of person they're looking for...if you know what I mean...

Cons

they preach we are a "family" here but they aren't there when you need them Matrix, short-term/long-term, LOA, team they use is horrible and Paychex states they "advocate" for you but they do not got called the "C" word by a client because i had over 100 appointments one day and he kept getting my VM (i was on calls all day) when i finally called him back he cursed his head off, when i told management to take the call he also cussed them out, but upper management wanted to keep his business so they just transferred him to a different representative, a male, it made me feel like money was their main priority here and not how i as an employee was treated

Pros

They somehow manage to hire really awesome people who inevitably hate their jobs just as much as you will! Makes for funny conversation and trauma bonding.

Cons

Worst pay of any competitor in the industry with people in India loading our clients US TAX INFORMATION. We don’t even utilize our own payroll platform internally, so that should be your clue that it’s not very good. As a payroll company, my final straw with Paychex was that they missed an ENTIRE commission cycle with no apology or accountability - a trend you’ll surely become familiar with any inconvenience at Paychex. So many directors and higher have left the company and gone to competitors; do yourself a favor and follow suit before starting.

Pros

If you get creative in telling the story of how paychex works it will open the door for future opportunities with much better companies and industries

Cons

wow where to start. compensation is a disaster. no one can predict what they will earn on a sale. partner sales are atrocious if your deal is under 60k don't even bother sending in smb. management is living on a different planet...from which they micromanage to all heck unless you make circle rep. promised six figures if you hit quota (funny bc I was 120% to quota and made less than 75k-which is less than "OTE") Be prepared to work 12 hour days for your first two years. as of Aug '23 70% of sales reps did not sell one unit over the last 3 months, and 80% of all revenue and units came from less than 10 sales reps out of over 800. yet management blames reps vs negligent overhiring practices and trying to stay out of the news for layoffs. also been part of a meeting (by accident) where upper management talks about reps as "unintelligent", "lazy" and "not working hard". good luck applicants!
