Pros
Most, not all, of my coworkers were fine to work with. Good supervisor.
Cons
Pay is HORRIBLE. I worked printing payroll and stuffing envelopes. Worked here nearly 10 years ago for $11. Even the supervisor said the pay is really bad. Last year and this year I have had recruiters contact me about the exact same job. Pay rate is now $14. So a $3 increase in nearly 10 years. Pretty bad. Very fast paced, demanding workload, expected to do multiple tasks in a short deadline, all for just a couple bucks over minimum wage. Same as fast food? No because they want some technical experience. Also, internet usage is heavily monitored. I was told that between busy and slow parts of the day, we can use the internet. Upper management would complain if any of us spent more than 2 hours a week on it. Ok I hear you saying we are here to work, not play on the web. Did I mention our work was caught up? They still complained. Instead of taking a break, the expectation was to research Paychex, the founder, know the company, its future plans, and history. I don't care. I was here to get a paycheck, nothing more. As a final note, the manager told me he burned through many people because the pay was so bad and job was demanding. When I gave my notice, he wasn't surprised. After I quit, I saw the same role open 3 times in 6 months, and in the last 2 years, I saw it open a few more times.
