Pros

OwnBackup has a great product and solution for backup solutions for Salesforce data. It is basically an insurance policy for Salesforce data.

Cons

Leadership is very immature and after I left the company their were rumors that Sales management was telling lies on me to other employees. They only promote their friends and gossip among each other. When I was working there management accused me of writing a bad review on Glassdoor, which I didn't. Now, I am writing this because people deserve to know the truth about this company. The good reviews are usually written by the Marketing team. There has been incidences where Marketing and leadership have tracked ex employees down to change their bad review.

Pros

- Product, salesforce mainly - Office - handful of quality people

Cons

Where to begin? This is a company that has steadily declined in every facet since I began. Initially you may not see some of the warning signs but they start to emerge the more you look. Starting with the CEO, he preaches transparency and trust but couldn’t operate outside these values any more if he tried. They try to convey a message that he’s approachable (check out the “one minute with Sam” video on YouTube) but that just isn’t the case, he could be right next to you and not a say a word, and when you walk past him he refuses to make eye contact. He inspires no leadership and dressed up as a fired employee last Halloween. Our CFO is probably the most unqualified person I have ever met and is a real life version of lord Farquaad. Proven leaders have left over the years and it is beginning to become apparent why. Tons of dead weight that are essentially tenured employees at this point. I’ve never been in a cult but imagine this is what it feels like.

Own Company Response

One of our core values as a company is, “We build trust through transparency.” Our Executive Leadership (ELT) Team demonstrates this value in all that they do. For example, we host monthly “Ask Me Anything” panels as part of our All Hands, which our ELT participates in and answers any and all employee questions live. They welcome anyone who would like to discuss anything further to reach out to them directly. In addition, each month, our CEO hosts an ask me anything session with every new hire that joins OwnBackup. We lead with transparency, and our leaders are committed to open communication. We find the best talent available for each and every role at OwnBackup. This is especially true for our leaders, who are each hand selected for the job, inclusive of our CFO. Another one of our core values is, “We take our work seriously, but not ourselves,” so if you have any other thoughts, questions, or Shrek references, please share them with your HRBP. Thank you.

Pros

- Top solution in the market

Cons

- Sales managers often seem to forget they are not talking to their child when talking to AEs - zero trust mentality - if your slack icon isn't green when you're remote, that means you're not working - Benefits package is terrible - 401K, PTO and health sucks - "Bro" mentality and you get promoted if you are brown nosing the SLT or on texting terms with the head of the organization - Conflicting alignment on sales process with leadership - Management reaching out to other team members to inquire about other employees instead of reaching out to voice their concerns "whats going on with ------Managers openly discuss other employees confidential issues with employees that are not part of the SLT -HR representation is none existent -Blind eye is turned to sexual harassment and other ethical issues in the office -Office has a ton of obsequious people
