Pros

Nice sales managers. Flexible hours. Laid-back environment. What more can you ask for, right? (See the cons.)

Cons

First 2 years or so is ok. Horrible compensation/benefit structure after 3 years. Minimal support/specialist structure. You pay for everything if you work there long enough AND they take more than 55% of the commissions. This affects clients who get assigned a new rep every year on the average. The comp/benefit/expense structure is the worst in the industry after three years (all three MUST be considered at Met, since each item is substantial). They spend too much money on compliance and on Snoopy/Peanuts rights. The compensation department have done a superb job at making by FAR the worst comp/benefit/expense structure in the entire industry. I know this because I have experience with Edward Jones, Merrill Lynch, LPL between myself and by advisory partner. THIS company is for short-term experience. STAY AWAY for long-term career minded folks.

Pros

Great benefits and competive pay.

Cons

Not very many opportunities for advancement and no professional develpment feedback or assistance from management unless you are part of the good old boy network.
