Pros

Employer portion of health benefit premiums is generous. Added 1 star for that.

Cons

If you're looking for a career as a consultant, this will not help elevate your game. Not sure if it's job market forces in recent years, but they'll take anybody and I mean anybody. While they tout themselves as a management consultant company, it is really more like a staffing agency in terms of the caliber of people they push through and the salaries they pay. I've seen things that would be absolutely unacceptable within any other company I've worked for in my career. I've worked with many well known management consulting companies and they typically employ the cream of the crop. This is not the case at Pcubed and it's not limited to the people in the trenches; it also shockingly exists within the corporate offices and executive positions. When I was in salary negotiations, I could not pin down the recruiter on the frequency of salary increases. I came to find out from peers that it's a rare thing. Be forewarned. The performance review template is an absurdly cumbersome multi-tabbed Excel workbook--like nothing I've ever seen. Plan to spend hours working on it. The long-timers are very cliquey and badmouth other employees behind their backs. While I don't have a ton of concrete evidence, I have enough circumstantial to say I feel I was played and that people in leadership roles did not act trustworthy with me. Also, if you interview, plan to give a PPT presentation "selling" Pcubed to fictional prospective clients. While that makes sense if you're in a sales position, the majority of the positions are project/program management. If anything, the presentation should be centered around a fictional project and how the individual would tackle the scenario. Should've been a red flag to me that they do things that don't make sense and are incongruent with good business practices.

Pros

They manage to get into large well-known companies. That is good for building your resume and plus learn about how the company operates.

Cons

Pay is well below average. They win contracts over reputable consulting firms on cost, not quality. The only people who end up here are the ones who were laid-off in the oil and gas downturn and couldn't find anything else. Therefore, it's a revolving door. Management is unstructured and lacks leadership skills. They are useless and not helpful when it comes to project management which is supposedly their specialty. Management and HR also lie to you about training. It is awful. They don't offer any real training. Every aspect of their processes are amateurish from interviewing to hiring. Benefits package is terrible. Vacation is even worse. They don't give you a reason to stay.

Thank you for taking the time to post on Glassdoor and provide us your thoughts. With regards to compensation, we understand that in order to attract top talent we must stay competitive. Every other year, we conduct a market compensation study, benchmarking ourselves against companies in our industry and of similar size. We are a relatively small, agile company making every effort to provide a competitive total compensation package (base pay + target incentive program + benefits). Regarding paid time off, most new people receive 28 paid days off through a combination of vacation time, sick time and holidays, with vacation days increasing each year. As to training, we offer both online and on-site training in core project and program management. In 2017, we trained over half of our North American staff in Scaled Agile with plans underway to train the rest. We also provide a 2-day destination training event for all our staff annually. We know that while pay and training are important, there are many other factors that influence someone’s decision to join us. At the forefront of our DNA is our culture, challenging client work, work/life balance, awesome teammates, empowerment, and opportunities to succeed. We do realize that Pcubed and management consulting is not the place for everyone and wish you all the best for the future.

Pros

No Pros with this company other than you work with big companies to gain experience.

Cons

This company tends to interview people for positions that are not open just to keep their name out in the market. They have a position open all year round and when people apply they inform them that they are looking for the right candidate, which is a lie because they have no intention of filling the position other than wasting people's time. The culture is not a constructive culture and I will be leaving the company very soon as soon as I get my other offer. Stay away and invest in a company that will reward you and encourage you to grow. No incentives although they generate a lot of revenue.

Thank you for your comments. We agree that working with some of the largest companies is indeed a plus. We have had an open position year round. Over the last year we have grown our consulting team in metro Detroit by 40% so we were actively looking for outstanding candidates. We are definitely not open to wasting anyone's time by conducting interviews where we don't have an opportunity. We recognize that it would be disappointing to recommend someone that is ultimately not selected. If you have any insight on areas of our employee referral program that could be improved upon, please email HR@pcubed.com. Thanks again!
