Pros

There are good people who work there but there are not many pros to put here

Cons

Loads. I cant believe the company rated best employer until I came on here to find out this location has not had a review in over 3 years. H ere is the skinny. They have had a layoff every month in 2025 only to call back people within 2 weeks to ensure they get paid less. It is now union so manufacturing is now 4-10s. Salaried? You won't have to work the 4-10s if you find a buddy that is unethically sound to pull strings and if anyone questions it, they will be bullied to be silent. 4-10s for salaried people are only those who rub management wrong asking them to stop playing favorites. If you dont question status quo you might be lucky and get a work from home exeception when you dont need it. Need to take FMLA? Make sure you lawyer up. They will retaliate for taking it. Take a close look at data metrics, then ask for the real one. Data is often suppressed to show only the things we want to talk about not what we need to talk about. There is literally no flexibility what so ever, unless again you know where the bodies are buried. If you are female, this isn't for you. You cannot tell people where you work or what you do in fear it will be labeled DEI activity. You also wont get promoted but that male colleague who ia less qualified and does half the work will. If you think there is HR, think again. They are less reliable than an AI kiosk. Literal no training and you are told to train yourself in outside programs you have to pay for. Culture problems galore with no accountability. This used to be one of the best places to work. LM isn't all bad. SOF GLSS has a damaged reputation and has been in dumpster fire mode since 2025. There is nothing good i can say about wage and benefits. They are behind market value and offer non competitive benefit packages. There is no movement in opportunities. In order to work here you must become complacent in every aspect.

Pros

Good pay. Plenty of work. Opportunities to move up if willing to apply for other positions.

Cons

Arbitrary layoffs used as a means to eliminate employees who refuse to be exploited. No promoting within.

Pros

Good work life balance (I am on a 4x10 flex schedule with every friday treated as "flex time" if I need it to reach 40hr/wk. I also enjoy being paid weekly. Good job security & stability from working in a large corporate workforce (we can absorb more business losses without needing layoffs). Fair salary and generous 401k match and employee stock options (which earn dividends). Holiday hours, sick pay, and PTO are competitive, with significant advantages in these areas for employees who stay at the company for many years. The compensation scheme for annual raises and bonuses seems fair and transparent. Top performers can usually expect +5% raises and higher bonuses at the end of the year. There are also opportunities to win out-of-cycle bonuses for excellent performance or technical breakthroughs such as patents or trade secrets. Technical training and engineering resources are plentiful, and the strong team attitude makes LMC feel like a great place to work. Work is generally exciting and fulfilling (your experience may vary), and the engineering staff are generally proud of what they do and strive to have a positive relationship with vendors and customers. I feel good about working here and am proud to tell people about my career at LMC.

Cons

Lots of travel, corporate red tape, and management can lose touch just by virtue of how large the company is. Promotion can be slow, and it is frustrating that excelling at your job doesn't necessarily mean promoting faster. Senior leaders tell us we need to move quickly and innovate, take risks, and win business, and yet it feels like middle management is constantly risk averse and fails to take action, move quickly, and make key decisions in a timely manner. This sometimes leaves the technical staff feeling powerless to influence outcomes, despite the vast resources and expertise available to us, leading to a feeling of wasted effort at times. Various divisions, or "business areas" (i.e. Aero, MFC, RMS, Space) within the corporation tend to "backstab" eachother instead of pursuing a unified corporate strategy (but that seems to have improved a lot in the last year or so) and sometimes it feels like we are our own worst enemy.

Pros

I like Lockheed - I find the work meaningful and worthwhile... managers and superiors are very sane - and policies and training reinforce that sanity. I've learned a lot and I can see that more hard-core developers are also hands-on with up-to-date web and server technologies. Benefits (401k, health, etc) are excellent, adding to total compensation.

Cons

Hey, it's a big company - you could land in a job you don't like or that doesn't fit you - you could get a bad manager/superior - that has happened to me occasionally. And with business ups and downs, you could see layoffs - but even those are handled in a civilized manner (IMHO). Hard to call out and *real* cons.
