Pros

It's a 9 - 5 job....no pressure to get projects done. If you are a working mother, an under-achiever, or are at a level in your career where you just want to coast this place is perfect. It takes years to launch new products here...and there is not pressure from management for employees to perform. Also there are like 21 days of vacation (includes sick and vacation) plus major holidays and 3 floating holidays. And given all of this....in 2007 the bonus paid out at like 200%....amazing...this is just luck given the direction provided (or not provided) by management in this company.

Cons

Very little strategy. Boys club.

Pros

Liberty Mutual has greatly improved the ability to for us to bring in business and for those who rely on commissions for a large part of their income the time from sale to payment of commissions has been greatly reduced. Liberty also offers good benefits, advancement opportunities, and will pay for employees to continue their education.

Cons

Their has been a greater focus on the training programs for new employees but more work needs to be done. Increased pressure to produce more just to earn the same pay in some cases.

Pros

Liberty Mutual allows employees to maintain a healthy balance between work and family life. It is a solid company with a great reputation; top management is strong, with good vision toward the future. They are fiscally conservative, like most large insurance companies, but that's what has kept them in business for so long.

Cons

There is a fast track for employees - either you're on it or you're not. If you're on the fast track, recognition is plentiful, advancement is guaranteed. If you're not, well, you may stagnate in your position until you can do something to change that. Not sure if the top management stays in touch with the front line personnel.
