Pros

They training is long and the start you off pretty slow. This leads you to believe you will have the work life balance you’ve always dreamed of. This lasts for a few months before pure hell hits. You can start shift as early as 7:00am

Cons

The total loss department is a revolving door. I used to wonder why there was so much turnover, but you will find out after a few months. The claims don’t stop stop coming. The work load is unreal. You will get constant calls , calls reviewed weekly as if this is a call center, unrealistic metrics to meet, never ending emails, responsible for completing total loss settlements and follow up on paper work. The appraisers are not involved in disputes all the load falls on you. The bonus is profit sharing based on performance paid in March opposed to December like most companies If you you are looking to be drained, overworked, underpaid and stressed come here. I left another carrier and can truly say the grass is not greener. I will be out of here very soon.

Pros

Good Benefits, Nice Office, Loved the projects and actual work, good partnership between Product and UX

Cons

- Awful Office Politics: you only get recognized if you're going out and drinking with the team after work - forget advancement if you have a family life. Hard work does not pay off here, in fact it doesn't even matter. Manager was checked out any time we had a one on one meeting, often late and then distracted. Management is swapped out pretty regularly so you have to 'start over' every year almost. - Terrible Work/Life Balance (Pre-Covid): They expect you in the office every day and if you choose to work from home they don't accommodate you in meetings and leave you out of important communication when its very easy to jump on Slack or a meeting. - Inequality in the workplace: was held back during my pregnancy and taken off projects because my manager didn't want to put too much on my plate, however I was very capable and extremely put off by this. I didn't feel comfortable going to senior management with this since I've had bad experiences in the past with concerns that went unanswered or ignored.
